I thought what she was wearing was in keeping with the occasion. IMO standing next to her husband, any other colour wouldn’t have looked good.

Whatever was she thinking ??
(124 Posts)Anyone see the awful outfit that Camilla was wearing yesterday? A bright blue very wide-legged jumpsuit. She isn't the right shape, height, age for it. Who advised her to wear it for goodness sake? Not at all flattering.
I tried to post a photo of it but it hasn't worked. Sorry.

Never mind the jumpsuit - this is frankly ridiculous.
She looks as if she is off to a fancy dress party.
Somebody needs shooting. I bet Angela Kelly would not have let the late Queen through the door looking like this.
Camilla is a Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, so perhaps that explains the military look? I think she was paying tribute to the regiment.
The M&S jump suit has much narrower legs, the perfect width for the model to constantly keep staggering and falling when her vertiginous heals get caught in them.
Probably too low cut for Camilla Staceyann, but a much more flattering cut.
Camilla's is too long and wide for her
I have been browsing at M&S and found this: www.marksandspencer.com/belted-long-sleeve-wide-leg-jumpsuit/p/clp22563058?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share
(This looks a bit more elegant)
Foxygloves I nevr suggested the PoW wore nothing but blue, but in a very high proportion of full family events it is clear that all 5 of them belong to the blue team.
As much as I liked the Queen's outfit, it was not quite right - and when i was dressing this morning I realised the problem. The fabric is too stiff for the size of trouser she is wearing. trousers that large should drape, not stick out as sails.
I am, today wearing a pair of trousers with very wide legs, but the fabric is much softer, they are made from one of the West African cottons that featured on the Sewing Bee last week, and they drape nicely. When standing still, it looks is if I am wearing an ankle length skirt.
I knew a couple who wore the same clothes and colours but in the opposite way. One in a white T-shirt and trainers and navy Burmudas, the other in a navy T-shirt and trainers and white Burmudas. Sometimes it was red sometimes yellow but always in the same combo.
Posted too soon sorry. I think Camilla’s is just too long & too wide. Lovely colour though.

My husband’s favourite colour is also blue but we don’t try to match our outfits! Years ago I lived near a couple who always wore matching clothes - weird.
Were they called Howard and Hilda by any chance?
I've just shown it to DH he said he could see why Charles went on the train to Pickering on his own, it looks like her PJ's.
I thought she looked lovely

Why do the two senior Royal women wear blue so much. The Princess of Wales is always wearing it and every family photo she takes and issues to the press seems to have the whole family, including her DH, in the same shade of mid-blue. Such a dull colour. Is it like school uniform, if she is wearing blue it is an official duty.
Well I imagine they choose colours which suit them and avoid any political significance. They do seem to wear “nation appropriate” colours though when on trips abroad. It’s easy to generalise, but POW does wear other colours too!
The truth of it is, Catherine doesn’t wear blue more often than other colours. I’d have said she wore red the most based on my impression, but as I am sad (and love clothes) I like to find out - here’s a blog which covers all her publicly worn outfits of 2023, and they are a rainbow of colours. Apparently her favourite colour is green!

Camilla looks good in blue, and I liked the top half of her jumpsuit. I don’t think there’s an age cut off, we should all be able to wear what we like, but I think it would have looked better with narrower legs. Maybe next time she wears one it will have.
I think it shows who "wears the pants in the Royal couple".
She couldn't give a monkey what you or I think and listens to a stylist who hasn't got a clue how to dress a Lady getting on in years. While they're at it they need to get her to a good hairdresser she's had the same style since she was a teenager.
Maybe she is going for the Churchill Boiler suit look.

My favourite wide legged trousers were consigned to the charity bag a few years ago. I ignored a couple of near misses coming downstairs till finally my foot caught and I took a tumble 🤕

I think she looks awful, but I defend her right to wear whatever she likes.
I tend to agree, seems very heavy for the current weather, her shoes were boots?
Camilla tends to wear princess seaming in her clothes, the parallel seams down the front. I think this is aging. In such hot weather a layered voile outfit might have been more suitable.
I thought she looked ok but was more concerned about her tripping over the legs!! Perhaps we're just not used to senior royals of her vintage wearing trousers of any kind. Bet you that a huge number of us are wearing them though!
Well, I love the colour - it really suits her, but (and this is my opinion, others will disagree), I thought it looked too long on her and the legs far too wide. However, like all of us, she can wear whatever she feels comfortable in and likes.
I usually like her choice of clothes, but on this occasion, no, I didn’t - that doesn’t mean I’m letting the side down, either - we can’t all like the same things.

I have a couple of black jumpsuits but find them a real pain when going to the loo as you have to virtually undress, hoping the floor isn't wet!
I agree that the picture showing movement is not flattering but she would have looked ok standing in front of a mirror.
^ I think these things tend to look ok when you’re just standing in front of the mirror.^
Actually, yes. For me, if I was standing in front of a mirror and something looked OK, I’d wear it.
If I was famous and likely to be photographed, and have people passing unkind comments on what I’m wearing, I might not.
Queen Camilla obviously has enough self-confidence not to worry about that.
