These people can be very manipulative . I am guessing butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth in jail. I bet he sucks up to the authorities constantly and if they are dumb enough to get sucked in and release him it is actually quite alarming. Doesn’t say much for the quality of people on the parole board does it ?

Childhood abuse or neglect IMO are not mitigating circumstances for a rapist and murderer. The parole board made a mistake in 2021 so I have no confidence that they're not about to repeat it.

You do realise that he was released and then recalled two years ago after approaching young women Mohutch? It’s difficult to see what’s changed to render him safe in two years when 33 years of incarceration hadn’t done so.

I would imagine that there is a very real danger that, as his last attempts to approach young women resulted in him being sent back to prison, he would act more quickly next time and do more than just approach them. I don't see how 2 years can have changed him so much.

If the parole board have decided to release him they have good reason. Prisons run programmes to make offenders look at their motives (which often stem from childhood abuse or neglect) and the effect on their victims and families.People change with appropriate help.I am all for removing violent people from society for a few years but the parole board are the only people in full possession of the facts.Sofor those of us who know nothing about this man to say they are wrong is not justice, it is mass hatred of the sort whipped up against many minority groups and is a dangerous path. I have worked in a prison and I have seen at first hand the changes which an be made by suitable education programmes

We can only hope that if he does offend again, it wont be anything more serious than a speeding ticket.

Life sentences

So presumably the criminal you are discussing was given the first kind of sentence and will be back in prison if he breaks the law, which as far as I know means that if he even gets a speeding ticket, he can be sent back to serve more of his sentence.

There was a recent programme following the parole board and I was shocked by some of their decisions and the unprofessional process that led up to them. There is no way that a foolproof parole system can be devised but we cannot have these glaring errors. He was recalled when he was last on parole; that should be a sufficient red flag to refuse release.

Women and girls will be at severe risk. He will kill and rape again.

Since my daughter started work in CID I have taken an interest in programmes about crime. There have been several that tell the story of his crimes. He is a complete brute who will offend again.

Beggars belief! He will now just know to be more careful than he was on last release.

Do agree with Germanshepherds mum in that it would be very interesting to know how the parole board could reach such a decision or at least what criteria they use to make decisions.

You’d be shocked if you knew how many offenders on life sentence are actually out on licence . And of course his behaviour is good there is no chance of him meeting young girls whilst in jail . You’d think the fact he was recalled to prison the last time he would have to do life as he has proved he cannot be trusted

There was going be a long explanation around my knowledge of men who offend in this way, and my lack of faith in parts of the justice system relating to violence against children and women, but I think no is enough.

From the pattern of his approach and murder of two young women, it is obvious this is a cunning and manipulative man - quite capable of putting on a reformed front to the PB.
I agree with Maddyone - his 'change of behaviour' isn't believable.... please, for the sake of some other young woman out there, keep him locked up.

definitely not,he's been recalled once, do these parole people never learn,the same happened with jon venables. This just proves they are still a danger to society.
