Bereavement wipes out everything
Prince Harry 'wanted to interview Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg about their upbringing and childhood traumas' - leaving Spotify execs scratching their heads before £15m podcast deal was scrapped.

Apparently they are considering writing a prequel to Great Expectations focusing on Miss Havisham as a strong woman living in a patriarchal society. Not even original
Could it be worse than the recent TV adaptation?
Oh, yes, perhaps it could.
eazybee I read the same newspaper article.
I am coming to the conclusion that these two are throwback to the 19th century when worth ladies and vicars would write Sunday school pamphlets showing how good children by doing all the right things always ended up in heaven.
H&M's ideas are based on same sanctimonious twaddle, but in 21 century woke. language and virtuous ideas
Children did not enjoy the Sunday school pamphlets, preferring adventure stories and adults now do not want this twaddle stuffed in their ears now.
If Harry doesn't face up to reality he and his wife are going to be in dire straits sometime soon.
Their 'projects' are regularly rejected, first by Spotify and now their contract with Netflix is unlikely to be renewed; "employees of Archewell say the company frequently lacked direction and the royal couple at times seem surprised by the amount of work required to finish entertainment projects." (DT 25.06.) Apparently they are considering writing a prequel to Great Expectations focusing on Miss Havisham as a strong woman living in a patriarchal society. Not even original.
Their work is deemed 'subpar.' and they have little that is original to -exploit- offer about their royal connections.
Can it be Harry cannot face the truth of his mothers life and death ? He keeps on and on about the papers hounding her, no matter it is a known fact she wanted the attention. Yes the paps were following her car that night, she chose to get in the car knowing the paps were waiting.

*eddiecat78, no one told you off in an aggressive manner, but a number of us disagreed with you and said so in a courteous way.
What should we have done or said?
I didn't think anyone was aggressive either.
Sadly, it seems to me as if Harry goes on and on and on about his traumatic life as if he is the only one who could possibly have ever suffered the loss of a much loved one.
I agree that the manner of his Mother’s death was very tragic indeed. However, he is not alone in losing someone special in such tragic circumstances as a death caused by reckless driving.
In addition, many people have lost loved ones in other terrible ways when they themselves were children - the death of a parent, a brother, a sister, etc. (I, along with countless others, fit into this category), but we have to pick ourselves up and try to get on with our lives. That ache never goes away, the wondering of “what might have been”, but dwelling in self pity for any length of time, is totally counter productive and damaging. I also strongly believe that our loved departed ones wouldn’t wish us to live like that. I wish he could come to some sort of terms with his terrible loss and realise that he isn’t alone in such loss.

I do think that Harry is deeply disturbed and depressed . He seems to be looking for a life purpose. He wouldn't stand a chance interviewing politicians. They would run rings round him.
So what? Perhaps he could interview the moon as well.
I think Putin is very busy at the moment and wouldn't have time for Harry's interview.
The Duke of Sussex reportedly pitched a podcast to Spotify that would have seen him interviewing figures such as Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump about their “childhood trauma ”.
Prince Harry spoke to a number of producers and production houses to come up with a potential podcast series for the audio streaming platform, according to Bloomberg.

I would trust The Independent
Did you have to tell me off in such an agressive manner?
Don't bother to reply. I've had enough of the frequent unkindness shown on Gransnet and won't be back

We don't necessarily believe it, but we would put nothing past Harry's desire to promote his own Prince Woe is Me story.
It is not whether we believe the story, eddiecat78 few of us do, but just amazement at the hubris of someone with limited skills and no experience of interviewing anyone, thinking he is important enough and clever enough for any of these world leaders to be prepared to waste even a minutes thought to giving an interview to a some European princeling, has-been celebrity now on a downward trajectory with little behind him but meritorious army service as a junior officer..

Didn't Harry interview Obama once? From what I remember it was in the days before Meghan, and was quite lighthearted. The Obamas wouldn't want to associate with M & H now after the nasty things Harry said about his own family. Likewise I think pompous Trump is loyal (??) to his own family, and he liked the Queen, so why would he agree to be interviewed by Harry who would only spend the time dissing Charles, Camilla, William and Catherine and making his own plight the subject of the interview?
His reputation is built on the incessant whinging, woe-is-me and selling his family for money; how depressing that if he has any other values then they’re hidden by this.
I would imagine few people would trust him or Meghan with anything other than the superficial for fear of it being spun into another money-grabbing opportunity.
It’s interesting that all the famous ‘friends’ attending the wedding haven’t said one word, as far as we know, supporting this pair of avaricious individuals..
Ha ha ha! Pulling his royal strings to make money?

In the unlikely event of any of these people talking to him he would have done his best to turn the focus onto himself. "Your story is awful Vladimir, but I had it much worse!"
He could have had so a good old whinge to the Pope about how the Archbishop of Canterbury was such a spoilsport he wouldn’t go along with their little ruse about them being secretly married two days before the actual wedding.

When you think of the abuse some children suffer, some even end up killed, it makes me want to spit! (Not literally) He is a delusional and narcissistic, spoilt man child.

I don't think he needs more therapy, less if anything. And I don't agree that his childhood was 'traumatic' - devalues the word
Nor do I think he really wanted to talk to Putin etc at all, just another way of talking about himself.
I did say perceived traumatic upbringing because so many abused, neglected, starved children would have swapped with him.

Wondering by what convoluted stretch of the imagination, autocorrect turned Mark Zuckerberg into bergmark zucker
Still it made me look.
a foreign friend of mine often used to ask me what borison is up to now.
i think she thought that was his name,
former PM/MP.
