Ch 4 10 pm. Boris Johnson and Lebedev…

At last, a Dispatches special investigating Johnson’s relationship with Lebedev and his father which points out he was the first PM to overrule intelligence advice and ignored the intelligence services advice relating to national security. Why has this been so long in coming? No wonder his supporters wanted rid of Ch4.

GB News is not watched over by OFCOM because it is not deemed a news channel. It is purely entertainment, so truth/lies all get treated the same.

Wow!
I didn’t know that! (The first part, obviously 😉)

As an aside, I am aware that there has been an injunction slapped on any discussion relating to the young 29(?) year old who has been awarded a peerage by Johnson.

Just giving people a heads up.

Charlotte Owen is the persons name.

Disgraceful. We've never had such a dodgy Prime Minister. This overtakes the sleaze of previous Tory governments.

What evidence have you of "his supporters " wanting to get rid of channel four. Some MPs did, or did you mean his supporters in the voting population. Because as a Conservative, I personally couldn't care less if it was sold to Discovery, as was muted, as its a channel I never watch.

You are missing some good programmes, including Channel 4 News which is excellent.

Why can’t Johnson be investigated for his activities as Foreign Secretary? Particularly as most of his potentially traitorous activities happened during that period.

I begin to think that there is a conspiracy going on here.

John Sweeney produced a video a couple of years ago on the same theme as the Dispatches programme. Ignored...

Dispatches... ignored

Theresa May knew about Russian interference in the Referendum before she invoked A50. And she knew all about Johnson being a security risk. Why did she not speak out about it?

Met police ignoring all those NO 10 lockdown parties which they must have known about as it was their men providing security...

Total mystery of the undistinguished and inexperienced 29 yr old being bumped up into the Lords.. presumably no info because of a super injunction.. she appears to have left no trace of herself online apart from a slightly inaccurate Linkedin profile... hmm

There's a lot to choose from.

Somewhere there's a clip of the head of OFCOM recently giving evidence to a Commons Select Committee. I saw it a while ago. She said that GB News wasn't a News channel, it was entertainment. It was in connection with the involvement of MPs as presenters,

That's another very dodgy looking decision to add to the 'conspiracy of silence' list...

Maizie what a bizarre situation

Maizie what a bizarre situation

Now that is odd.

Doesn't it advertise itself as a 'news channel'?

There do seem to be a lot of left wing grannies on here! My own take on Boris is that he is the best prime minister this country has had after Churchill. He is truly inspirational, highly intelligent, careful with our personal freedoms and most importantly got Brexit done and coped with Covid better than any of us could have done. He was stabbed in the back and this country will not be any the better for it. Really dread Starmer.

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jun-23 12:34:52

Dickens it’s tagline is ‘home of latest and breaking news, opinion and analysis’

And ‘news’ is in its actual name confused

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jun-23 12:35:53

Oh BevSec! shock
You’ve done it now!

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jun-23 12:38:02

It’s a ludicrous situation.
It actually posits itself as a rival to BBC news, but isn’t a news channel 🙄

I’ve recently read an autobiography by an ex- Russian KGB member, now living in the U.K. And he stated that you remain KGB the whole of your life.

unless you are poisoned or fall out of a hotel window, of course. I have been banging on about this for months, and with few exceptions, hardly anyone on GN was the least bit bothered that their Pm was a traitor. I forgot to watch the programme, shall do so on catch up.

Johnson waiting in Perugia airport. Apparently entirely on his own with no luggage, according to fellow passages So where are the documents he arrived with?

he is obviously hungover in that photograph, possibly having flashbacks of just what happened, who has the evidence, and what the implications are. No, that is silly, Johnson has no conscience, no mind for anyone other than himself.

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jun-23 12:41:35

WhiteWave yes, it’s obviously satirical smile

It’s on the I love GB News thread. People like me who don’t watch GB News are now known as fun sponges. It seems we’re not supposed to take the news seriously but find it amusing….

well I must be a fun sponge then. Or a realist. But I still know a traitor when I see one

However it did beat other news channels in the TRIC awards for news, the other day!

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jun-23 12:47:58

Liz yes, I know. Which further adds to the confusion

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jun-23 12:49:59

I don’t know if this has been mentioned.
And why on earth did Lebedev invite Katie Price to the party?
(This also relates to the blackmail rumours that I mentioned yesterday)

What does that have to do with Boris and Lebedev exactly BevSec, why not tell us your take on that?
