Frank Alfred Odysseus Johnson, born on 5th July.

Guess which name was chosen by Boris?

I realise this may be of little interest to many, but there seems so much misery in the News…..

Those old names seem to be coming back. Our latest great grandson is Frederick,to be known as Freddie. He was born a couple of months ago

I wish mum and baby well - who wouldn't. End of.

Carrie looks very happy, I can’t grudge her that, although her husband’s fecundity is a poor example for all the parents being told to stop at 2 kids and not to have children they can’t afford!

I am quite jealous of Carrie’s pregnancies - she seems to put no weight on at all for the two months we know about her pregnancy! I suppose some people are like that.

Would prefer it to frank !

GrammarGrandma Wed 12-Jul-23 12:25:54

babsbada There are already eight he admits to.

red1 Wed 12-Jul-23 12:24:22

blessed baby, but the father role model?

Babsbada Wed 12-Jul-23 12:22:39

I wonder if he'll decide to stop at seven?

Callistemon21 Wed 12-Jul-23 12:22:06

That is an argument forcthe short-term but, in the long-term, a decrease in world population would benefit the planet.

Amalegra Wed 12-Jul-23 12:18:50

There was an article in the Telegraph today which raises concerns about how many more couples are choosing to have fewer or no children and the ramifications this will have on the ability of the country in the future to have an adequate working population. Funding of public services, pensions etc is dependant on taxes and NI contributions being raised to a sufficient level. Perhaps we should be worrying more about the economy and encouraging a stable workforce!

Babies are gorgeous and innocent. Cannot share the majority of excitement shown here, I wish none of Boris’ children ill however who knows how long this wife will last and judging by his previous wife having many children doesn’t guarantee longevity of marriage - sorry ! I detest the odious, lying, bumbling ex PM !

Frank is short for Francis so maybe she is hoping for a bit of compassion like St Francis of Assisi.
Good luck to her and her children.
I can see what Fanny is getting at with the similarities to Frank Spencer."Whoo Carrie'.

People are considering and in fact generally actually having fewer children. And that is causing quite a bit of concern worldwide. It's not a simple case of over-population. Resources have grown as the human population has grown.

Check out ourworldindata.org for actual useful information.

Yes babies are absolutely lovely. But considering how over-populated the world is, wouldn't it be a good idea if people considered having fewer children.

Norah Wed 12-Jul-23 10:22:46

Lovely. Babies are a wonderful gift.

nanna8 Wed 12-Jul-23 10:13:43

Well he’s certainly doing his bit for population density! Good luck to him and his wife.

FannyCornforth Wed 12-Jul-23 10:01:12

Thanks Maddy - and both couples have a famously incontinent pet!

Grantanow Wed 12-Jul-23 09:44:56

Woman has baby.

maddyone Wed 12-Jul-23 09:40:55

Fanny I love the comparison of Frank Spencer and Betty, and Boris and Carrie 😂

maddyone Wed 12-Jul-23 09:39:19

A new baby born healthy and wanted is always good news. Welcome to the world Frankie.

BigBertha1 Wed 12-Jul-23 09:30:52

'Happy days when babies come' to paraphrase Melanie Wilkes.

FannyCornforth Wed 12-Jul-23 09:04:51

Perhaps they were inspired by this old show.
Maybe Boris sees something of himself in the main character.

‘The series follows the accident prone Spencer, and his tolerant wife Betty through his various attempts to maintain a job, which frequently ends in disaster’
