Nadine Dorries releasing a "tell all book" on eve of Tory conference.

Ohhh, she's not a happy bunny after her hero was removed:

"Commenting on the announcement, Ms Dorries said she “had no idea of the journey I was embarking upon” when she began the book.

She said she had “wanted to discover the forces behind the downfall of the prime minister” but instead “found a fault line within the Conservative Party stretching back decades and a history of deception fuelled by the darkest political arts”.

“If you thought that power flowed from the people into parliament, be prepared to think again,” she added.

Harper NonFiction publisher, Adam Humphrey, who negotiated the deal, said Ms Dorries’s “unique vantage point, unparalleled access to sources, and innate storytelling ability will provide readers of The Plot with a rare opportunity to walk the corridors of power”.

“The Plot is an urgent look at how our Government really operates, and I look forward to it adding to the current political discourse,” he continued.

Ms Dorries also hit out at ITV political editor Robert Peston, who suggested the publication date of her book was deliberately timed to coincide with the Conservative Party conference in Manchester.

“I am sure it is just coincidence that [Nadine Dorries’s] book on how – in her view – Rishi Sunak and his close allies toppled Boris Johnson will be published on the eve of Sunak’s first and massively important party conference as PM,” Mr Peston wrote on Twitter.

Oh and as for her novels i failed to read a chapter. Her dishing the dirt on Parliament will be Nadines version of the truth.

She's written dozens! How did she find the time.

As they're not free Kindle downloads, no I haven't read one. If one became free, I might - in the interests of research!

Her constituents are fed up. She hasnt held a surgery there for over a year. She hasnt spoken in parliament nor attended for a year. What a disgrace she is. It is het own fault she isnt in the Lords as she was written to and reminded she had to respond within a certain timescale. No sympathy for her at all.

Has anyone read any of her books?
See them in the library. Didn't bother with them.

Overtaken for a peerage by a 25 year old. Time to move into the slow lane.

Obviously one of them was much better at something than the other- I don't want to think what that something might be!

She hasn't formally resigned her seat yet,*Chocolatelovinggran*.

She's still being paid as an MP (and paying 2 daughters from parliamentary expenses) for no work....

All she’s interested in is getting her revenge with Sunak. It’s a disgrace that she is no longer fulfilling her role as an MP but wants to use the by election when she does to inflict as much damage on Sunak as possible angry

I think that might be in the past MaizieD, don’t you remember her describing her children as leftie snowflakes?

If they are I imagine they will be keen for her to hand in her notice.

Is she still an MP? How does she find the time?!

Killing two birds with one stone, taking her revenge and making a shed load of money. Didn't someone else do that recently?

ronib Sun 16-Jul-23 09:30:58

To be clear ND has sold 2.5 million copies of her works of fiction. That’s a good royalty cheque. Her latest non fiction is advertised on Amazon for pre sale at £18 something. A sharp operator?

Wyllow3 Sun 16-Jul-23 09:26:46

Whats her line going to be on why Her Hero Prince didst give her a peerage tho?

sassysaysso Sun 16-Jul-23 07:45:18

It's making me laugh already. Suspect there are a lot of awyers rubbing their hands in anticipation.

NanaDana Sun 16-Jul-23 07:23:43

Hmmm...Wondering whether it will be a "hell hath no fury" or a "Boris witch hunt" tale of woe. That's the extent of my interest, as I won't be reading it.

Well, one of us has to read it, we can't comment unless we know more about it.

I nominate you DiamondLily 😁

No thanks lol. Her self delusion is funny, but I don't think I can stand to read much about her "magnificent hero", Johnson.🥴

Still, no doubt, it will be serialised in one of the papers, as ever.🙄

I honestly don't know why people don't understand that the only person that bought Johnson down was Johnson.

He was never suitable to be PM, and, thankfully, hopefully, he's gone for good now.👍

Nadine Potter and the hair brained prince more like.

Wyllow3 Sat 15-Jul-23 22:51:37

Will be glad to let someone else read it for its darkest secrets report.

^As for those "darkest political arts" - doesn't that read rather like a hack review of a not-very-good contemporary novel one picks up at the airport for reading on the beach on the Costa del Wherever?^

Just the thing to lull you off to sleep when you're roasting on a Spanish beach 😴

Nadine Potter and the Half-Blood Prince would be a good working title I think.

And Stanley Johnson was on tv the other morning, supposedly talking about environmental stuff but managed to slip in the fact that his son was the subject of a witch hunt.

It's so damned predictable isn't it? A prime minister who lied, consistently and often shamelessly, is ultimately and inevitably held to account... and it becomes a witch-hunt.
