Ken Livingston diagnosed with dementia

Sad news. Another well known personality succumbing to this awful illness.

Didn’t like him when he was known as Red Ken, but it’s sad he’s now been diagnosed with dementia.

Shame. He was probably the best of the London mayors.

I agree with DiamondLily, he was the very best of the three London Mayors so far. He knew his stuff inside out without having to bluster and fluff at Mayor's Question Time, unlike the two that followed him, and the so-called "Boris Bikes" were actually his idea!

So sad that such a sharp mind has been affected by this vile disease. I feel for his family but think they have handled the situation with the dignity he deserves.

It's such a horrible disease, poor man and his family.

Very sad news. Whatever his politics, he was definitely charismatic and entertaining. Also, he was an enthusiastic gardener, as am I. Sending very best wishes to Ken and his family.

And don't forget his newts! I always rather liked him and it seems a sad way to end up.
