I would like Dennis Potter to provide his epitaph. This is what he said before he died.

“I would shoot the bugger”

“There's no one person more responsible for the pollution of an already polluted press & pollution of the press is an important part of pollution of British political life”

Agree.

His successor is, sadly, cut from the same cloth.

I'd only believe him to be 'gone' if he were 6ft under with a stake through his heart.

According to the FT he intends to remain interested in his empire...

His son might be cut from the same cloth, but will he have the same power and drive?

By the headline I didn’t know if he was dead. If it’s because in his nintees he has passed the reigns to his son, it was to be expected. I have no interest in any of them,

I admire him for his energy. He is 92 years old for goodness sake. Love him or hate him he has certainly made a mark in history.

Apparently the 4 oldest children each have 2 million voting shares so there will be some shenanigans when Rupert dies.
