Theresa May

Theresa May painted herself straight into a corner by trying to invoke A51 without the consent of parliament and being defeated over the matter when taken to court. It made her look incompetent/ignorant right from the start.

Then she lay down all those 'hard lines' in her first major speech, on the advice of her two advisers and with absolutely no consultation with her Cabinet.

She then spent her period in office trying to row back from her initial stance but nose led by the ERG and the DUP. Not to mention having a loose cannon as Foreign Secretary.

She wasn't really up to the job. Tried hard, but still a bad PM.

She was the most dignified PM we've had in recent history despite that awful dancing scenario

Yes, out of all the recent ones, I thought she was genuinely hard working, and tried to do her best with Brexit, despite Johnson constantly sabotaging her.

Looking at what's followed, I'm sorry she's gone.

But, good news, the one next tipped to be Tory PM/leader is Suella Braverman...🥴

Ah yes, thewoman who wanted to create a hostile environment for immigrants and who authorised vans with "go home" written on the side. A role model for others? I don't think so!

Ilovecheese: and there are still people who have lived in the UK since they were small children, brought here by legally immigrating parents (and who've worked, paid tax, married, raised families here) who live under the shadow of repatriation to places of which they have no memory (and no family/friends in) and who have no access to NHS, pensions, or even the ability to rent a room. Mrs May is (like many Tories in government) a disgrace to our once law-abiding nation. I hope she's ashamed.

Theresa May was in a terrible position. Trying to reach compromise on Brexit with hardliners on each side. She was so calm and dignified compared to Trump on various visits.

And the police hated her for cutting their numbers dramatically. She only comes across as good because she’s so much better than the PM’s who followed her. She was a terrible Home Secretary and lost her party a working majority by calling an unnecessary election.

Theresa May was just interviewed on our tv over her new book. I wish she was a politician here, she could buy and sell most of our lot. Sensible, measured answers and dignified. Much, much better than that Johnson character who followed her.
