By the way I shall be totally open here, I do believe all Faith schools should be abolished, ALL of them.
Must be a first FP as I agree!

Sorry, I'm trying to understand, are these children who are kept at home in our country attending faith schools?
Same question.

what did I think Only that it confirmed what I know, not that I needed confirmation but it’s good to hear it from the horses mouth.

I have both Muslim and Jewish extended family. Both have kept their children at home.
A small number of Christian’s in most countries all persecuted to a greater or lesser extent, Lebanon worst of all where half have left in recent years, since Hezbollah took over.
In the scale of Middle East wars Gaza is a small issue, in Syria alone 14m have been displaced and is still unresolved
"We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us."
Golda Meir
My Muslim friend hasn’t sent her children to school today and neither has my Muslim neighbour. It just hits home how far reaching the consequences are for people not even involved, in any way.
I actually watched the news this evening, it seems things may appear a bit more positive. Let’s hope so 😞

That video clip is chilling Meryl. Hamas do not want peace, they want war. So chilling.
Precisely, I wonder if many people realise just how much Hamas wants only the death of Israelis and then others?
How is it possible to 'talk' about peace when only one side is willing to consider it?

Katie59- according to PalestinianPortal.org, Palestinian Christians can trace their history back to the birth of the Church in this land 2,000 years ago. They are indigenous people of the Holy Land, not converts or immigrants. They were a major part of the population but now make up about 2% of the Palestinian population, y Hough 10% of Palestinian people world wide.
The Jewish virtual library in 2017 estimated 46,850 Christians ‘live in the disputed territories. 1300 in Gaza the rest in the West Bank.
Sunnies make up 85% of Palestinian Muslims
I digress from the key issue. Who can mediate , which world powers can come together and stop more bloodshed

People saying that the Palestinians can go to Egypt are wrong the Egyptians don't want them! Nor do any other Arabic country.
Not even Iran?

Why did Hamas decide to slaughter so many innocent Israeli civilians at this moment in time?
Why ?
Ali Baraka a senior Hamas official, was talking on Russian tv (I tried to put up a link, but failed).
He was interviewed on the 8th October about the planning
Try to find it to watch it for yourself. It's very illuminating.
According to Wiki, there are 10-15,000,000 Arab Christians in the Middle East.
I think all Arabs are Muslims , the Palestinians certainly are.
It’s not just Israel, every country in the Middle East has a problem with Islamic fundamentalists who would take over if they could, it’s only a large loyal army and constant vigilance that stops them.
Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, all maintain large armies to control extremists, in addition Lebanon, Syria, and Libya are in chaos, what chance for Israel
The only countries that don’t have problems are Iran and Afghanistan the fundamentalists have already won.
Katie59
I simply do not believe that Arabs and Israelis can live together peacefully while other countries are determined to destroy the nation.
We have seen how a few hundred Hamas extremists sponsored by Iran can cause chaos.
"Arabs" who do you mean by "Arabs"? Do you mean Muslims, Turks, Egyptians, people from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sunni' or Shia Muslims, Palestinian Christians, I could carry on with a list of people who come from 22 different countries who could be described as "Arab". Who exactly are these Arabs with whom Israelis can't live peacefully? And which "Israelis"? The people who chose to live near Gaza were those who wanted to live peacefully with their Palestinian neighbours. They organised lots of things to bring about trust and harmony. It is terrorists like Hamas not "Arabs" that are the problem and we feed their aims by not recognising the difference.

Then they aren’t thinking straight. People like Netanyahu will never bring peace to Israel.
But I don’t believe that will happen.
I agree with MerylStreep & Katie59
The Israeli people are scared and angry, Mr Netanyahu’s successor will probably be hardline
Katie59
When Natenyahu goes, he will go, he is likely to be replaced by an even harder line leader whatever the international opinion is, the Israelis are incensed by this attack, they are in no mood to elect a moderate.
And righty so!!!

I absolutely don’t agree, the Israelis are not hard line, they recognise war crimes when they see it - and they will not vote in another hard liner. Of course are some Israelis who are hard line , but I truly believe it is not the majority.
Going down the hard line road means violence for ever.
