I may have strayed into the wrong thread. However I was thinking about Islam and how it's said that Muslims are not nowadays supposed to question the Koran. Most Christians and Christian leaders would encourage their flocks (those individuals who are able) to question doctrines on an ongoing basis.

I don't forgive anyone violence, discrimination or the oppression of women, but this is not confined to Islam. Nor is it behaviour of all Muslims. It is the action of a small section of fundamental Muslims and most extreme religions treat women in similar ways.
Trying to pretend it is solely Islamic is denigrating Islam. I will always challenge inaccuracies. Nothing to do with how I think about Palestine.
Quite why you have posted it on this thread I don't know. Are you saying that because an educated man in Gaza describes how to beat your wife Israel's bombing is justified? If so I would point out that the highest death rate in Gaza is for children and young people, who don't have wives.

I posted it because it is relevant as to how women in Gaza are being treated.

I have repeatedly posted that I have upmost sympathy for the women and children in Gaza, they are being used as human shields by the very same people that were elected to govern and protect them - Hamas.

Islam should be a peaceful religion however, the fundamentalist section of Islam is growing, women will be the casualties.

I hardly begin to understand the world -wide complexity of the war . Like the OP I too deplore part information and misinformation , but especially when misinformation is for financial or political gain.

I watch Al Jazeera news as well as BBC news.

This situation is causing so much division, and it is alarming to read and listen to it. I’ve just come in from the garden because one of our neighbours were having the most massive row about the situation😮 I came in because I didn’t want them to think I was earwigging😄

My post wasn’t about violence against women but about a woman speaking at a press conference about what happened to her family on October 7th.

Totally vile but also not Islamic.Under no circumstances is violence against women encouraged or allowed in Islam. There are many examples in Quran and Ahadith that describes the behavior of Muslims towards husband and wife. tbh I'm not sure why you posted it, I hope most of us recognise that religion is used completely wrongly to control and oppress women. The Taliban is a very good example of this but there's also examples in other religious groups.

It's been happening in occupied Palistine every day shooting Palestinians taking their homes and land, children as young as 12 from their home at night locking them up in prison, physical, metal abuse. That is hostage taking. The Palistinians have no rights under control of Israel, living in a concentration camp.

Sister in law of Blair said that Palestinians are living in a concentration camp call it what it is Not a prison at least you could leave there. It's more than what Tony Blair said about Israel apartheid state. I hope for peace there government leaders must talk a solution

There's an esteemed Jewish Yeshiva not far from where I live. The men there are amongst the most spiritual and educated but their women are not emancipated. It isn't top trumps it is simply recognising that some religions treat women badly and it is not the sole prerogative of Islam.

Now others are speaking, now an obviously British man now living in Israel, speaking about his murdered sister in law who went for a run and was shot at point blank range in the back and head. It took four days to identify her body. His mother in law was also shot to death. He says the rockets came over Israel at 6.30 in the morning that day, but they’re used to that as it happens every day. He said his father left Vienna in 1939 because of the antisemitism that was happening then.
