Good grief. He was even made deputy leader of the house when he was under investigation.

Will there be any Tories left who aren’t sexual predators!!?

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 12:35:07

I am not sticking up for him ,

Not in a court of law

Why are you sticking up for him?

Doodledog Tue 17-Oct-23 11:16:24

He has been proven guilty!!! Read the report.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 11:15:13

The justice system ! Innocent until proven guilty

Casdon Tue 17-Oct-23 11:14:22

There were witnesses to a number of the incidents in this case, who were no doubt interviewed and gave statements, so it’s unlikely that it’s not true.

What will it take to convince you that there are alleged victims who lie and this is not acceptable?

I am convinced that this happens occasionally, but unless we believe in the justice system we may as well live in an anarchic society with no laws or penalties.

Bone was found guilty - what more do you want?

vegansrock Tue 17-Oct-23 11:10:34

Some people always like to blame the victim.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 11:08:29

Oh there will always be someone who thinks the victims of his behaviour are liars.

See Jimi Saville's victims.

For goodness sake, he has been found guilty! Here is the report of the findings:

I don’t know what it is that MPs think makes them immune from normal sanctions if they behave inappropriately. I can’t bring myself to gloat about it though, as this could just as easily be a politician from any of the other parties -= so many MPs seem to be equally vile in this respect.

I agree, no point in gloating as next week it could easily be a Labour MP.It happens with many of them with a worrying regularity doesn't it.☹️

He is our local MP. Last year I contacted him regarding my DH's cancelled operation.

His reply started with "firstly let me say how I hope your DH is recovering after his operation".

Say no more!!!

Doodledog Tue 17-Oct-23 09:42:50

It looks like there will be a by-election. How could you go to see an MP knowing he has done that? You could never take him seriously, or even feel safe in his company. I don't understand how people can go about their business aware that people know that they have behaved like that - I would be mortified. There doesn't seem to be a sense of shame any more.

CvD66 Tue 17-Oct-23 09:37:49

It is immensely sad to read that these attacks/assaults/bullying started in 2015 with a formal complaint made in 2017. The complainant withdrew the complaint when told Bone would be able to cross-examine them during the investigation process. Just how inhuman are these people?

25Avalon Tue 17-Oct-23 09:34:07

Yes Doodlebug I already posted a second time when I realised he had been found guilty of misconduct. Have you read the twitter page I mentioned where he denies it? Well he would would’nt he as Mandy Rice Davies famously or infamously said.

I find it worrying that people still feel unable to speak up about sexual harassment although I think this was first raised in 2017. I thought we were in a more enlightened times than the 70’s when if you complained you were ignored or worse still laughed at. Why do these men behave like that? Makes you shudder. By election on the way?

Doodledog Tue 17-Oct-23 08:58:20

25Avalon

So he’s guilty then?

Yes. He’s been suspended for six weeks, which is long enough to trigger a bielection.

Anniebach Tue 17-Oct-23 08:44:09

Alleged allegations

Iam64 Tue 17-Oct-23 08:28:25

Thanks urmstongran for the Guardian link. I’ve just read the DMail on line which gives even more graphic. Disgusting (alleged) allegations. This man should not be an MP, suspension just isn’t enough

paddyann54 Mon 16-Oct-23 22:04:34

Maybe he's one on the long list LOST by Teresa May ? I always thought it was "lost"until one stepped out of line ,she was using it for her own gain

Peter Bone. Arch brexiteer and Johnson supporter. Don’t know what he’ll do if he can’t sit in Parliament every day. He’s the only MP I can think of that’s there day in day out. Seem to remember that, when Johnson was accused of lying he said that none of his constituents ever mentioned it.
