Pretty brutal press conference with Netanyahu just now. Which, unless I’m missing something here, reinforces a lot of things that Glorianny and growstuff have been saying all along.

Sadly, it appears that any chance of a ceasefire has been extinguished. The IDF are reported to be in the next phase and have again warned all Palestinians to move to the South. The South is already struggling to accommodate those who have moved out from the North, it's an absolutely appalling situation for every Gazan.

Thank you growstuff it’s a shame that they are not afforded similar publicity as the anti Israel/pro Palestine protests.

Maybe they should get themselves a better PR team.

growstuff, No of course criticism of the Israeli government is not anti semitic, but expressing the wish that every Jew on the planet be exterminated and the state of Israel be at the bottom of the Mediterranean is.

I know enough to know that marches in support for other persecuted Muslims are few and far between,( for China, non existent) and lack the enormous turn out as has been witnessed for the past two Saturdays. As for Ukraine? Well, whose heard of them anymore. Selective protesting comes to mind along with anti semitism.

Are you saying that everyone who is at demonstrations in support of Palestinians are anti semitic?

Strange that nobody marches or flag waves for the people, particularly children, of Yemen, the people of Syria, at this time being bombed by Russia,the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, the repression of Uyghurs in Xinjiang. Are these unimportant Muslims? particularly the Chinese ? All are horribly persecuted, a lot are children but none in the Arab world , or anywhere else seem to particularly care. Only Israel is the villain, no one else. No wonder some of us think it's anti semitism.
From 1948 to 1967 Gaza was administered by Egypt, and the West Bank by Jordan. After the six day between Egypt, Syria
Jordan and Israel,,a war that Israel won, the administration of both enclaves passed to Israel. In 2007 Hamas won the election and took over the running of Gaza. What a pity they couldn't have spent all the aid that was allocated more wisely and perhaps provided more protection in the way of shelters, air raid sirens and so forth when things became difficult ? Hamas leaders it would appear have retreated to the safety of Qatar abandoning their poor citizens whom they should be protecting,to their fate. What an appallingly cowardly government they turned out to be.

It's anti-semitic to assume that all Jews agree with the actions of Israel. Judaism is not something which insists on a certain political belief. It is made up of many different branches which have very distinctive practices and beliefs. Not to realise that and to lump all Jewish people together is showing a lack of respect for them.

For Rohingya advocates such as those in East London, there is a sense that the crisis is set to worsen and that campaigning is the very least they can do.

The past week has seen sporadic but nearly daily protests in London and other cities across the UK.

The largest, on Sunday, drew thousands flooding the streets outside the Myanmar embassy and attracted protesters from across the country.

You simply don't know enough about protests.

Glorianny I haven’t seen one post on either this thread or the previous two which didn’t support the innocent civilians in Gaza.

It is a dreadful situation both in Gaza and also in Israel for those Israelis who have lost loved ones in the most heinous way along with those whose relatives are held as hostages by Hamas.

Hamas has amassed millions of dollars, which it has spent on weaponry and digging tunnels for its operatives protection, not a solitary dime has it spent on the civilians who elected them.

Cutting communication means the inability to call for an ambulance, help etc.

I have just watched a BBC programme filmed by a young Palestinian man and his young family.

He is now dead, although last heard his wife and baby were still alive.

It is utterly savage.
