He wasn't there for himself, his feelings today do not matter.
He was there on behalf of all those brave Scots who gave their lives for our freedom.

He should have known that.

So why did he bother going? He does not represent the majority of Scotland and totally embarrassed himself today

Just watched this on television, and, am disgusted with the leader of SNP he did not sing at all but more than that did NOT sing National Anthem!

For clarity as posters are assuming/saying this was Humza Yousef, it was Stephen Flynn leader of the Westminster SNP. Humza did but attend.

Humza Yousef (who l assume is meant by people writing 'HY') was not at the Cenotaph today. It was Stephen Flynn the Westminster Leader of the SNP that stood with the wreath upside down and chose not to sign. Neither look anything like the other so not sure why people think SF is HY. SNP views on the monarchy differ from one member to another. Nicola Sturgeon was pro-monarchy and went to every royal occasion she could.

Because he’s there representing the Scots, and many Scots died for Britain in all the wars.
No matter what he thinks personally he should have been able to that.

He looked as if he would rather be somewhere else!
A lot of Scottish folk lost their lives!

I went to our town service on Saturday.
I found it very disappointing that some people just carried on with their usual business whilst the service was being held.

I attended the local gathering at the war memorial where my little grandson was holding the flag for his cub scout group very proudly.
I joined in the prayers and sung the hymns and kept the silence because I am a Christian. I stand for the National Anthem but did not sing because I am a Republican. I do not think that any behaviour of mine was disgusting or disrespectful.

Unless you are a public figure I don’t think your behaviour was disgusting or disrespectful. I don’t the SNP leader’s behaviour did him, or the SNP, any favours.

A disturbing Remembrance event whichever opinion one holds.

Good to feel disturbed, because with disturbed feelings comes pity .

Absolutely disgusting Remembrance Sunday is not a political event it’s about people who fought for democracy to allow people to have their views. Many Scots wanted to fight for King and Country whether they were Nationalists or not and many died too. Like it or not for now Scotland is part of the UK and that’s our National Anthem the SNP need to grow up.

Today passed off with great dignity and respect. Well done to all involved.
At least we now know why Suella has not yet been sacked. She was laying a wreath. I expect Rishi made the executive decision to allow that to go ahead so that Remembrance Day was not marred by yet another round of bad publicity. Now tomorrow, that's a different kettle of fish.
As posters predicted, yesterday's marches passed off as expected. Great dignity from those genuinely at the Cenotaph to honour the Fallen. A mainly peaceful march for Peace in Palestine, although I would not march with others displaying hate sentiments and speech - 'By your companions are you known'. And then the total shambles and aggression of the other lot.

I don't sing the National Anthem either it would be hypocritical if I did but no one would mind. I think HY is in a different position.

I don't sing the national anthem. I have no wish to ask anyone or anything to save an institution that I don't agree with. So I simply stand quietly whilst others sing. We live in a democracy. To sing or not to sing the National Anthem has to be a personal choice.

I think it’s understandable really when they don’t want to be part of the nation. I also think it’s disgusting and disrespectful on an occasion like this.

Some members of the royal family barely sing, either. I think they are too self conscious. One of my mild amusements is watching royals ‘sing’, without really opening their mouths. Not all of them - actually the King is not bad.
