Supporting is good, but I don’t think that support enables Cash Access UK, who own this private company, to do any more than they’re doing now and plan to do. The hubs don’t cover the whole range of services offered by a bank branch, but will help more businesses and private individuals with basic services as they open more of them.

I have to say I like the talk about community and the the way Phil puts it, that although businesses prioritise profit over people, Labour should always prioritise people. I know it's what Labour has always believed but without "working class" and talking about all people appeals to me.

I also like where he says Labour are a Party who are thinking about people, not just profits, about communities not just Corporations. Obviously this is his analysis of what Labour are saying, not Labour talking.

He doesn't mention Cash Access UK Jaxjacky. Where has that come from?

We are OK here but in very rural areas it must be very difficult, most transactions are now online and once an account is set up they usually work without problems. Setting up a new account or any other non routine transaction will need a visit to a branch in the local town but I just don’t see everything being available in small settlements.

Cash access should be available wherever there is a local shop, many petrol stations also have cash machines. Now we have contactless cards, cash becomes very expensive to handle.

The "hubs" make a real difference to the cost per bank Katie. I can't see them in hamlets but for large villages upwards it sounds possible.

It's not as if the banks can plead poverty. Communities and the small to medium sized companies, are the lifeblood of this country.

Post offices handle certain services, but they are being closed as well as banks, at the end of the day someone is going to have to pay, particularly for security if cash is involved thieves are everywhere.
