Why indeed? I have literally no idea!

Fairycakes, assuming you’re serious, what exactly about Farage would make him a good PM? Aside from his obsession with Brexit and Mugrants, I know nothing about his policies/beliefs/views on the Economy, NHS, (ooops maybe he wants to privatise this), Education, how he would deal with our huge and growing number of British Homeless, Veterans, Transport, University Fees, and so on and so on. I have heard nothing from him ever about anything other than Brexit/EU/Migrants, our world is about so much more than this!

Johnson “hard done by” good god!

Look at his political and employment history! I enjoyed his blatantly put on boyish buffoonery on Have I Got News For You, because he had a personality and was amusing! I appreciated him much less when he became London Major and spaffed all kinds of public money on water cannons and a garden bridge. From the moment he entered parliament he was a walking disaster.

Sadly, imo, he’s a liar, an adulterer, someone who never takes personal responsibility for his actions and I don’t believe his “sorry” speech at the Covid Inquiry.

All Johnson has ever been sorry about is being caught out!

As others had stated though, Trump and Johnson might just bluff their way back into politics.

Frankly, the world has gone quite mad!

Sorry to anyone who hates Nigel Farage, but I'd be happy with him as P. M. 😁 I think he'd do a terrific job, but he and Boris are complete opposites and I think there would be a constant power tussle between them 🤣🤣

Farage has stood for election to the House of Commons seven times, in five general elections and two by-elections, but has not won any of those elections.

None I believe as a Tory, but he has belonged to the Conservative Party, UKIP and run as an Independent. He’s currently a member of Reform!

I simply cannot think of many things worse. I’m pretty sure Farage would race to the Tories if there was ever ever a chance of him becoming a British MP!

The One Nation group lead by Damien Green should join forces with the Lib Dems and the ERG with Reform. At least that would put some clear blue water between our options as voters!

If they can find any clear blue water with all the sewage and other unknown pollutants in it .

While they are all busy wondering how to revive their fortunes as a party, the electorate is pondering their future utility bills... "As a result of this new price cap, prices will rise from 1st January 2024" (my latest communication from British Gas), and are possibly thinking of spending even less on their weekly supermarket shop - if they can, as they've already cut back because of some of the ridiculous price increases. I won't even mention the current situation in the NHS or Social Care.

I understand that immigration is important, but I don't really believe that anyone thinks sending a couple of planeloads of asylum seekers off to Rwanda is going to anywhere near solve the problem in any meaningful sense. We are still going to have to cover their accommodation and living costs for up to five years. And then, there are the vulnerable Rwandan refugees we are going to bring to the UK as part of the deal (the number has not been specified). A handful, a hundred, two hundred - who knows?

Perhaps the disgruntled party members think that Boris would "get Rwanda done" although I've no idea what position they believe Farage could hold...

I think your idea is a good one. This factional fighting does not solve any problems for the general public. And the in-fighting within the Labour party's not going to resolve our problems either.

You have to realise, Siope that the comment was part of a personal attack on the poster who said 'we taxpayers'. It's a long running and unpleasant campaign which Gnet seems unwilling to deal with.

Not sure how much they are at war with each other, but they are all at war with Sunak, and quite possibly with

The horrific thing is with the Conservative party as it is now, in Mrs Thatcher's words TINA, There Is No (credible) Alternative.

Remember when there was - Mrs Thatcher, but also Michael Heseltine, Ken Clarke, Peter Walker, Lord Carrington, John Major.

One may not have supported Conservative Paty, but these men were towering intellects compared with the current shower and all were respected over seas and competent.

This lot couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery.
