Michelle Mone has finally admitted she lied about the tens of millions of pounds profit they stand to make from their shameful PPE deal

She said her life had been "destroyed" by allegations about their PPE profits, even though "we've only done one thing, which was lie to the press to say we weren't involved".

She remains adamant they did nothing wrong and lying to the media isn’t a crime. Baroness Mone is also under investigation by the House of Lords for failing to declare an interest in PPE Medpro.

A truly odious pair of money grabbers who are now expecting sympathy for their plight.

Absolutely sickening….

Oldbat1 Sun 17-Dec-23 21:53:10

It was Cameron who nominated her for the Lords.
They have no awareness do they. Arrogance in the extreme. What a disgraceful pair but im sure there will be many in the Commons and Lotds who benefitted with regard to ppe contracts. The whole thing turns my stomach.

Which Prime Minister put her forward to the House of Lords? And for doing what? Makes a mockery of the "honours" system, it seems.
I reckon the whole Life Peerage routine, whereby a PM can stuff the Upper House with his or her sycophants, had reached rock bottom when ex-cricketer Ian Botham was given a Lordship for "services to charidee!" On that supposed premise surely everyone volunteering to keep charity shops going should get a seat in The Lords.
I imagine Robber Baroness Mone got her title also for promoting charity - her own.

Oh my Grannynannywanny - that's an excortiating YouTube piece. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

HousePlantQueen Sun 17-Dec-23 18:55:51

As for her saying that the money she has is just like when her Dad gave her Mother housekeeping money......utter bo**ocks as the eloquent Johnson would say. As wise an interview as that given by Prince Andrew.

Greedy, vile profiteers, who didn't even have the grace to provide goods fit for purpose. At least black marketeers sold real nylons.

Grannynannywanny Sun 17-Dec-23 17:29:55

If you have a few mins to spare this tale of corruption and greed involving Mone and her husband is worth a look. 29 million pounds of the profits from the useless PPE supplies went to Mone’s adult children.

Kim I think MM thinks we are the dimwits and we should now swallow her latest, no doubt, rehearsed lines.
We most certainly are not - and do not.

varian Sun 17-Dec-23 16:58:53

Even disregarding the fact that most of the PPE they supplied turned out to be useless, her husband did not seem to think that making a 30% profit on PPE to save lives in a pandemic was profiteering.

If that was not profiteering , what would be???

Chocolatelovinggran Sun 17-Dec-23 16:44:50

Poor them. Perhaps we could have a whip round to give them a little break- on a private yacht maybe? Oh, no, wait a minute, don't they have a private yacht, live in a tax haven, had an absurdly expensive wedding etc etc.
Just give us our money back, dear.

Kim19 Sun 17-Dec-23 16:07:56

I watched this too and found MM presented herself as some sort of dimwit. Obviously she isn't. Her husband came over to me as a well rehearsed self righteous scoundrel. I'm pleased the investigations are continuing and will hopefully speed up.

Doodledog Sun 17-Dec-23 15:45:37

I watched it this morning, and as others have said it was the brass neck of them that was most shocking. They genuinely didn't seem to think that they'd done anything wrong. They seemed indignant that anyone should think ill of them. 'All we did was lie to the press', indeed.

CoolCoco Sun 17-Dec-23 15:39:27

People get prison sentences for protesting and shoplifting- surely this pair should be locked up?

toscalily Sun 17-Dec-23 15:37:20

It is worth watching the interview rather than reading the transcript which does not convey the lack of remorse or contrition in their expressions or body language.

Lomo123 Sun 17-Dec-23 15:31:00

Absolute disgrace the pair of them.

Bea65 Sun 17-Dec-23 13:56:21

Witzend I'm there with you...and yes I can knit one purl one
Awful pair of thieves wrapped up in their own self pity....

Witzend Sun 17-Dec-23 13:45:35

Honestly, it’s enough to almost make me envy the women sitting knitting at the side of the guillotine in Revolutionary France, watching the heads roll as they did their knit one, purl one.

TillyTrotter Sun 17-Dec-23 13:40:25

They are sorry …. they have been found out.
Usual sob stories. Doug Barrowman’s body language said it all I thought.

MaizieD Sun 17-Dec-23 12:12:53

How did she get into the lords? probably by contributing to Tory funds. A disgrace.

It was Cameron who elevated her to the Lords. For her services to the Lingerie industry, perhaps.. wink grin

silverlining48 Sun 17-Dec-23 11:45:25

I watched the interview this morning and could not believe they were seeking our sympathy. Poor them? I don’t think so!
They have not a jot of regret or embarrassment and denied everything.
They should be ashamed but clearly aren’t. Instead they are full of self pity despite having profited with useless unused masks and aprons by £60 million.
How did she get into the lords? probably by contributing to Tory funds. A disgrace.

HousePlantQueen Sun 17-Dec-23 11:36:46

Many of us have been banging on about this for a long time. They were a pathetic pair this morning, I don't know why they every thought anyone would feel sorry for them. There was not a word of contrition, no acknowledgement at all. I assume the BBC legals took great care before this was aired. Interesting comment form Bannerman about someone offering money to make the NCA 'go away'. Hopefully a few senior govt members have had a very uncomfortable morning listening to the interview.

Luckygirl3 Sun 17-Dec-23 10:56:01

Truly sickening. It is another world they live in where they believe they are entitled to riches and have no moral sense at all.

Grantanow Sun 17-Dec-23 10:52:26

If there is evidence of criminal wrongdoing one or both should be prosecuted.

Lollin Sun 17-Dec-23 10:33:24

I find it difficult to

growstuff Sun 17-Dec-23 10:29:29

AFAIK Mone and her husband are still being investigated by the National Crime Agency. I don't know what on earth is behind the BBC giving her a platform for her sob story.

paddyann54 Sun 17-Dec-23 10:28:04

She's not the only one getting away with misusing vast sums of PUBLIC money.Surely its time they were all brought to book.Billions of pounds missing from public funds and they think they've done nothing wrong .Tories rotten to the core ! Haven't even hears Dido Hardings name mentioned about the money she got for a failed track and trace system and there are many many more.Money pocketed so they can live the life they believe they should have...makes you sick when ordinary folk are still expected to pay massive fines for minor offences ad in some cases no offence at all..like the young women walking in the country with hot drinks!!
