I think you make plain your approval of Iran, Glorianny.
I think someone got out of the wrong side of the bed
It seems to me it is the very worse course to take.
Surely diplomacy is much more sensible?
I think you make plain your approval of Iran, Glorianny.
That was to Grammaretto
Are you talking about Gaza or the bombing of military installations in Yemen with the aim of allowing merchant shipping to pass through the Red Sea without fear of being attacked?
I am not the poster girl for Iran, however I will not accept that they are actually the only regime in the Middle East that subjects women to restrictions.
Saudi Arabia has done far more in the area of sponsoring terrorism than Iran, but apparently is forgiven. The amount of propaganda swallowed whole and regurgitated on this thread is incredible.
Nor do I understand why it is acceptable to kill over 400,000 Yemenis. And approve the further bombing of a country which is already starving. The situation in Yemen will not have been improved by this action and the Yemeni people will continue to suffer.
I listened to Jeremy Bowen on the BBC news tonight. He speaks a lot of sense although he has to choose his words carefully.
You cannot saturation bomb a people out of existence Mr Netanyahu and expect anything good to come of it, least of all the release of the remaining Israeli hostages.
WASHINGTON, Dec 21 (Reuters) - A total of more than 20 countries have agreed to participate in the new U.S.-led coalition safeguarding commercial traffic in the Red Sea from attacks by Yemen's Houthi movement as more nations join the effort, the Pentagon said on Thursday.
Still, the new Pentagon total would suggest that at least eight of the countries who have signed up have also declined to be publicly named, in a sign of political sensitivities of the operation as regional tensions soar over the Israel-Hamas war.

We are currently staying with French friends in southwest France who say that they are ashamed at their government who hide behind countries brave enough to defend our western way of life.
Australia, Bahrain, Canada and Netherlands are part of the alliance with US and U.K. standing up against terrorism. Where are France, Germany and the rest of the EU, other than The Netherlands, who will ultimately benefit from our actions.
20% of the world's container shipping goes via the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.
Do you think attacking these merchant vessels is acceptable, Glorianny?
The Houthis have been showing propaganda films of them invading and taking charge of ships in that sea route for months now.
Glorianny
Grammaretto you are absolutely right. There are mainly hawks and sadly a lot of grans who swallow whole the propaganda produced by the US and the oil providing countries they befriend.
Oh you’re doing comedy now huh?
Having read all your posts about the wonders of Iran ( the biggest joke of all) you now choose to insult the intelligence of most of the posters on this thread, quite an achievement.
Being the poster girl for the Iranians and the Houthis isn’t a good look. And no, a lot of ‘grans’ don’t swallow whole any propaganda from the US but am starting to wonder about the propaganda you yourself are falling for.

*Houthi insurgents call for “death to America, death to Israel, damn the Jews, victory to Islam.”*
They definitely hate USA
Islamic extremists have hated the US for many years, nothing new there, backed by Iran, they all see the west as weak because we value life, whereas they see the loss an entry into paradise and justified to expand their religion.
While the extreme government in Iran provides weapons to be used against the west the attacks will continue, Irans weapons are arming Russia in Ukraine, underestimating them will be a big mistake.
Broader than that. Hate the West.

Sorry can I clarify you think it's ok to bomb shipping routes if it results in a change of policy with which you happen to agree with. If their aim was counter to your beliefs the bombing of shipping routes would be wrong presumably?
I wonder why when Yemen has been bombed by Saudi Arabia constantly for years a couple of USA attacks would achieve anything.
As for all the remarks about how bad the Houthis are. I don't suppose the people of Yemen feel the same. I would imagine the people they really hate are the Saudis who have killed over 400,000 of them in bombing raids and the US who now seem to be doing the same.
If the raiding of sea traffic made the US rethink its support of Saudi Arabia and Israel, so bringing an end to the horrendous killing in Gaza and Yemen, I think paying a little extra for goods would be well worth it.
Whitewavemark2 I asked the question because you are anti the U.K./USA targeted bombing of Houthi bases.
You cannot condemn the attacks without coming up with an alternative. Negotiations at this time are not a credible option/alternative.

Ever since October, the world has held its breath frightened of escalation, and no one voiced this fear louder than Biden.
If I believed that a couple of bombs lobbed at the Houthis solved the problem then I might agree it was worth the violence, but it won’t and it isn’t.So you are happy for Houthi Pirates to bomb and take commercial ships with impunity?
Why on Earth would you ask such a ridiculous question!

So you think Maritime law can be broken, commercial shipping going peacefully about its business bombed without impunity?
Who is escalating this?

So the Lib-Dems, along with sundry other fools and lunatics, want any and all military action(s) undertaken as a matter of urgency by our armed forces to be debated in parliament beforehand, thereby transmitting the details of said actions to the enemy in advance. Fine, lets lose any and every future conflict, and get all our brave servicemen and women killed. You have to wonder what world these idiots live in!.

Interestingly (which you don't appear to know) one of the most active countries in fighting ISIS (remember them ) was Iran.^Who funded ISIS? Saudi Arabia.
Of course I know and why do you think Saudi funded Isis and Iran fought them? Sunni against Shia.
Iran weren’t opposed to Isis out of any decency or morality as they don’t possess such qualities. Just Muslim factions attempting to destroy the other. Medieval barbarity.

Farzanah there’s a much longer shipping route which will make goods more expensive in the West. So inflation up, mortgages more expensive etc. Part of a plan to destabilise?
