Just read that the Princess is in hospital following surgery. I hope she makes a good recovery.

PofW reported today as 'working from bed': yup, that's the way to go! Much better than working from home.

The thing about working from home is that you could be working from bed - who would know?

Wear a nice top and put on a background that looks like a library full of learned books and no-one on a conference call or in your class of students would know where you are!

Anniebach Sun 21-Jan-24 11:10:46

If needing medical care have them come to your home ?

The working from bed comments reminded me of lockdown 2020. My Dil is a teacher and was teaching her students via zoom. She had to lay down the law on the first morning when she was faced with bare chested teenage boys propped up in bed with their laptops for the lesson!

I have no idea why you are attacking me.

Please stop.

Oscar Wilde, that famous wit, said "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but the highest form of intelligence"

Callistemon I didn't read your post as sarcastic though, just a tongue in cheek amusing comment.

Callistemon21 Mon 22-Jan-24 14:12:40

Thanks Rosie51

In fact I thought I was agreeing with Gwyllt's tongue-in-cheek comments.

But there you go! 😁

I am going to admit I haven’t read through this topic however,
If Prince William can’t do the job he is paid very very highly for along with accepting the many privileges , multiple houses etc he should give it all up.
Very few H’s can take time off work for longer than their holiday entitlement while their wife is ill, .it isn’t as if he doesn’t have all the help he needs.
Unless of course his wife’s illness is much worse than has been admitted.

Anniebach Tue 23-Jan-24 11:02:32

Two houses are multiple houses ?

MissInterpreted Tue 23-Jan-24 11:08:08

Anniebach

Two houses are multiple houses ?

Isn't anything more than one a multiple?

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 23-Jan-24 11:09:10

What a very unpleasant comment. His wife is staying in hospital for a prolonged period, and is unlikely to return to duties until after Easter, which is hardly indicative of a minor problem. Nothing has, however, been ‘admitted’..

He has postponed some engagements - in similar circumstances a paid employee (which he is not) might be given compassionate leave. We don’t know which engagements have been postponed - they may have been such as to take him away from home; remember that he has three young children who need his reassurance and presence whilst their mother is in hospital. Some compassion on your part wouldn’t go amiss.

Anniebach Tue 23-Jan-24 11:09:59

No different to many MPs

annsixty Tue 23-Jan-24 11:12:50

So sad I have offended some people.
It is my opinion and I am fully entitled to express it.
Just as you are fully entitled of course to dismiss it as unpleasant.
That was not my intention.

annsixty Tue 23-Jan-24 11:14:57

Believe me GSM I am actually a very compassionate person and that remark is uncalled for.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 23-Jan-24 11:18:15

Your post was totally lacking in compassion.

annsixty Tue 23-Jan-24 11:19:25

Ok I am leaving this now.

Anniebach Tue 23-Jan-24 11:21:19

annsixty you place £££ on your compassion

Callistemon21 Tue 23-Jan-24 11:24:19

It's called compassionate leave, annsixty

Many firms allow that for their employees; it is concessionary but my employer kindly allowed me tome ff for a family emergency.

Callistemon21 Tue 23-Jan-24 11:24:41
