.....going on a walkabout to "meet & greet" then - when a member of the public pins you down about the NHS - heartily laughing before being shepherded away by your minders.
A wee bit insulting don't you think Prime Minister?
On a par with Gordon Brown's "Bigotted Woman!" gaff when went electioneering many moons ago......

If you watch the full clip on this he laughs when the lady makes a remark he continues to talk with her as he walks away at the end she thanks him and shakes his hand. So I don’t think this lady felt insulted.

It has come out that the clip was edited. The full clip shows that he was laughing at somebody else’s remark and the woman he was speaking to thanked him and shook his hand.

Not a good cameraman either who angles his shots from behind Rishi's head and doesn't realise the laugh is directed at someone else's comment to the left. Then not very good journalists who wrongly report on this, which some people fall for! So a non event really and no gaff!

You need to have been there mae13, as two friends of ours were, or watch the whole conversation, not an edited recording/transcript.

As others say, that clip was edited to make Rishi look bad.

But the whole nation couldn't be there, now could we Jaxjacky? We see what we see - and that carries an awful lot of influence especially in an Election year.

and that carries an awful lot of influence especially in an Election year especially when a clip is edited in an attempt to show someone in the worse possible light.

If you do a spot of research you will see that the clip did not show what you described.

I do get annoyed when clips are edited

I think we can expect to see a plethora of edited clips of all politicians, party leaders in the run up to the GE.

Just remember that a fair few in the media have a vested interest in who’s the next PM.

Indeed

There are a couple of newspaper owners who will be seriously hit by the changes to non-dom tax status as proposed by Starmer.

But he didn't really answer her question about the broken NHS.

Sparklefizz Sun 21-Jan-24 10:19:36

Didn't he? Were you eavesdropping Grantanow?

It’s interesting about edited clips and whether we have the time/inclination to research them. I’m no fan of RS in this instance but it’s a pity when his real response to the woman was not shown.

Especially when the left wing press edited out the whole story, and leave the bits in that suit their agenda. No a good impartial reporter, camera film. Eh.
