Feed the terrorists, no matter they rape babies
I think someone got out of the wrong side of the bed
Israel claims that UN aid workers were involved in the October 7 attack and - without any independent proof - UN suspends aid with immediate effect.
Why? Does Netanyahu - an unbalanced individual at best - have so much influence on the United Nations, an organisation which has proved itself fairly useless down the decades?

I’m sorry Caleo, you are simply wrong.
GrannyGravy provided the link, or it might have been a screenshot, but it was very clear that out of twenty thousand UN representatives in Gaza, 20% of them were involved with Hamas. This included taking part in the depraved murders and rapes on 7/10 and also included keeping Israeli hostages in their apartments.
Clearly countries/governments are going to consider carefully if they are able to continue to fund an organisation which is engaged in terrorism. Whilst this is being considered they have decided to temporarily pause their support.
The USA has already stated that the UNRWA must not cease its operations - it recognises the vital part it plays in humanitarian aid.
I suspect that the threats to stop funding were just that - thank goodness.
Severe starvation is beginning to rear its ugly head in Gaza.
Frankly I would rather risk the odd terrorist than watch a child begging for food.

There are tens of thousands of aid workers employed by UNHCR and twelve of them were guilty. This is not sufficient reason to withdraw aid to people about to die of starvation and disease.
GrannyGravy13 yes - isn’t the figure thought to be 6 million Jewish people?

Good grief. They were in hospital, one was paralysed. It's against the rules of war. What about the trauma to the staff? Other patients?
They saw their chance and took it.They had intelligence about these three men being in the hospital and decided to take them out before anymore plans to murder by these hamas members be made. A good call.
It was the only call
If this hit had been on Hitler and his head honcho’s a lot of Jewish, Gypsies and other so called undesirables could have been saved from death…

Nobody wants to see mass starvation, but everyone needs to understand that countries/governments can’t be seen to be inadvertently funding terrorism.
This is the dilemma for those countries which have temporarily paused funding. As for us ordinary people, there is absolutely nothing that any of us can do about it.
This.

^Israel has the right to defend its territory but not to destroy somebody else’s territory ^
How was Israel expected to defend itself without entering Gaza?
I don’t think Hamas had the right to enter Israel and commit one of the most depraved attacks in recent history, which didn’t only include the violent murder of well over one thousand people, but included burning and completely destroying the property in those areas.
How do you think WW2 was won without destroying somebody else’s property? Since you’ve studied WW2, you should know the answer to that.
Israelis had been warning Netanyahu that prior to the attack dangerous things were happening at the border but their warnings were ignored. It obviously doesn’t excuse in any way the terrible things that Hamas did but the world is being dragged into a war because of his oversight. He is a bad man presiding over a nasty right wing government.

No, of course you’re not going to answer my questions growstuff.
Because you know the answers.
It is a relief to read Matthew Miller - a US spokesperson saying that the UNRWA must continue with its work in providing aid to the Palestinians.
Of course it must!!
Nothing else made sense unless you wanted to see mass starvation.
I’m sure funding will soon continue snd Netanyahus little propaganda wheeze dies a death. The few working for UNRWA and supporting Hamas will hopefully have been dealt with and normal service can resume.
There are 19000 children orphaned by the war and these need urgent help.
50% of Gaza is destroyed - so far- so living accommodation of some sort must be provided.
All that as well as food/water/fuel supplies and of course medical aid.
I believe that the hospital attacks by the Israeli militia happened in the West Bank - not in the war zone.

The IDF entered a hospital and shot three HAMAS commanders dead!
Why not? They were legitimate targets.
It’s what happens in war.
My father was a soldier, I’m sure he shot people dead too, but he didn’t talk about it. It’s part of war. He was also shot himself, but survived.
Was the bombing and destruction of all of our major cities by the Germans a war crime? Or many war crimes?
Or does it only apply the other way?
You often criticise the UK and it’s part in WW2, but fail to criticise Germany. Strange. Do you see Germany as the victims? And the UK as the aggressor?
I'm not going to answer your questions because I prefer reasoned discussion to "ad hominem" attacks.
Incidentally, how much do you really know about the Germans during the war? They turned a blind eye to the Nazis during the 1930s, but by the time they had seized power it was too late. Every adult might have kept their heads down (some didn't by the way), but they were not all part of the Nazi war machine. I have often wondered how current UK citizens would act if there were a time machine and they were transported back to 19303/40s Germany. I suspect many would act exactly as the Germans did.

German cities were bombed because every adult was part of the Nazi war machine, only young children were innocents.
Just consider the Germans were close to building a nuclear weapon, if they had succeeded there might have been no liberation and we might have had jackboots marching out streets. Bombing crippled war production and saved millions more dying.
Bombing Dresden did not cripple war production and didn't save any more from dying. The war was already won by that stage. Even Churchill wasn't convinced it was the right thing to do.

Did he pretend to be a doctor and shoot people who thought they were safe?

The allies didn't totally destroy any country. FWIW it's worth, I think the bombing of Dresden would today be tried as a war crime, but most of the sites in Germany which were bombed were strategic and civilians weren't targeted in the same way as they are in Gaza (or now in the West Bank). I expect you read that the IDF recently disguised themselves as doctors and women, entered a hospital and shot three people in cold blood.
