What the hell is happening to this country?
Send these scum to Rwanda ASAP.

Totally sick of these violent criminals being allowed to stay here.

I wonder if the asylum decision can be revoked. He would be an excellent candidate for being sent to Rwanda if he can’t be deported to Afghanistan.

A charity worker who claims to have offered him help claims he is Iranian. The 2 counties share the Dari language.
That’s handy 😉

^ He also appears to have been described as a quiet good man! He’s lived here since 2016^

Not so good though.
He was convicted of sexual assaults in 2018.

If and when this man is caught and convicted the U.K. is unable to deport him, as since The Taliban took control we have stopped all deportation’s to Afghanistan.

I expect he'll claim 'diminished responsibility' due to mental health problems anyway.

He was granted asylum status AFTER being convicted as a sex offender!!! The naivety and stupidity of the vicar/priest involved in this ridiculous decision beggars belief also. He or she has blood on their hands for sure and I hope they reflect on this for the remainder of their days.

These do-gooders make me so angry.

Me too GSM. Especially as in his own community in Newcastle the attacker was described by the local Halal butcher as ‘a good Muslim’.

His behaviour maybe represents what is considered acceptable behaviour towards women by his country of origin and his real religion. I think this is a real problem with permitting so many single men from countries which disrespect women, and with religions which still condone stoning a woman to death for adultery, to live here. Their values and beliefs are poles apart from ours.

This is at the heart of the matter.
How can we assimilate whilst such dogmatic views exist?

I think we have bent over backwards to help newcomers, but they are sometimes the ones who will not accept the ways of our society and will not assimilate. After all, we provide free schooling, free healthcare, homes, the list is endless.

There is an average of over one attack every day in the UK. What I find heartbreaking is that hardly any of the other attacks get any airtime, although they destroy peoples lives in exactly the same way this attack has done. Yes, one attack would have been prevented if this man hadn’t been granted asylum in the UK, but what about the other 400+ that haven’t even hit people s consciousness? Double standards at at work.

I agree, but I fear it suits both our media and our govt to highlight every evil deed carried out by a “foreigner” This was indeed, an evil deed, one amongst many!

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 02-Feb-24 16:25:27

This was particularly horrifying, involving a mother and her two young children, and it was filmed. And the man is still at large, so much publicity is given over to it in order to find him. It was bound to hit the national headlines. That doesn’t mean double standards are at work. Others will be reported in the national press, some only in the local press.

Duncan McAuley has been named as the priest by multiple journalists. He is also a member of a refugee charity.

Until 30 minutes or so ago his X account was open for all to see, it has now been locked and only approved followers can view his posts.

I don’t think we can Namsnanny. These are the beliefs such men were brought up with, the beliefs of their parents and generations before them. They consider those entrenched beliefs to be right and they choose to live amongst others who share them. I look forward to hearing how it was that a priest was convinced that this man had converted to Christianity.

Suspect caught on CCTV on the Victoria Line maybe having to the south coast.

caknib Fri 02-Feb-24 15:49:18

I don't suppose anybody will actually listen but the attack is beyond words and what we have become as human beings is heartbreaking to me.

You think the backlash against this evil man is heartbreaking?

caknib Fri 02-Feb-24 15:35:36

This really plummeting new depths, both the crime that was committed and the backlash. Both are equally heartbreaking

As an aside the Home Office is completely unfit for purpose.Perhaps if it was properly funded and the right calibre of people employed, potential newcomers could be swiftly processed .

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 02-Feb-24 15:34:11

Yes Chestnut, the human rights squad won’t allow them to be locked up so they just disappear.

I remember a priest being killed by someone he had supported and allowed into his home. That man was home-grown British and mentally ill.

And your point is? I remember a young asylum seeker who was being cared for by an English couple, he went out and planted a bomb on the tube train at Parsons Green. He was not 'home grown' or mentally ill, he was a terrorist.
