I'm not sure of the exact date, coming in the next few days, unedited on his channel and X for free.

I very much doubt it. I don’t know who Tucker Carlson is and can only think that the “interview” must be to Putin’s advantage, otherwise he wouldn’t be giving it.

Namsnanny Wed 07-Feb-24 00:20:47

True, that's always a possibility.

But listening to all sides is always helpful.

I'm actually looking forward to it.

Most likely it will be full of propaganda, but nevertheless we can never know enough.

Who is Tucker Carlson?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 07-Feb-24 00:37:58

I’ve had a look and yes I do remember him (not his name, but the incident that led him to be given the sack by Fox News), he was known for his conspiracy theories when working for Fox News - all loads of rubbish, and lied about the company who set up the voting system and Trumps claim that the system was “fixed”

It was found to all be totally untrue, and he got too hot even for Fox News to handle. Fox had to pay out millions to the company.

Not quite sure that he is a man of integrity😄😄😄

Wwmk2....
I think it's very hard for anyone to give over space in their heads to thoughts and ideas that don't chime with their own.
I just don't want to be that person.
Not for you, no matter.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 07-Feb-24 00:53:18

I suspect however, -and we will see what the interview brings, - that Carlson will want to chime with Trump’s intention of withdrawing the USA from Ukrainian support, and that is the reason Putin is willing to give the interview.

God knows where that will leave Europe.

Namsnanny Wed 07-Feb-24 00:59:23

As you say we shall see.
Does that mean you will watch the whole interview then?
Because I wouldn't trust a few snippets edited by others.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 07-Feb-24 07:38:49

😄😄 of course not! Only if reports make it seem worth my while to watch such an idiot.

BlueBelle Wed 07-Feb-24 07:56:57

No idea who Tucker Carlson is so no probably not I guess
( he sounds American ? )

The other issue is that Putin interfered in the US election when Trump got in last time. It seems that he is hoping to interfere again on Trumps side.

I’ve just watched a Documentary Putin vs The West on BBC iPlayer.

Very interesting. Not sure if I’ll watch the Tucker interview . I can’t take him seriously.

Like Whitewave I don’t really know who Tucker is, and I’m in New Zealand currently, so no opportunity to watch this as the tv in our rental has only a few appalling channels. I will be interested to follow the thread though, to see what others think. I’m unsure I’d watch it even if I was at home, because if as Whitewave says, he is a supporter of Trump, then I would find it difficult to take him seriously. I absolutely cannot even stand the sight of Putin or Trump, and I’m hoping Trump doesn’t win a second term of Presidency. Nonetheless I think I loathe Putin even more than Trump because he is responsible for the appalling war in Ukraine.

I'm not sure what Namsnanny expects to learn from this interview.

I won't be watching it. I think I have a pretty fair idea about what Putin believes and stands for and Tucker Carlson was a key perpetrator of Trumpian and Republican lies on Fox News; up to and including insisting that Trump had won the 2020 election.

I cannot see that it will tell us anything we didn't know already.

I believe there was a rumour that Trump was going to choose Carlson as his running mate to become VP. Surely not!

Namsnanny Wed 07-Feb-24 14:18:58

interesting Grantanow well thats one thing I didnt know before :-0grin

Blimey!!

One thing for sure, this year is going to be very interesting - if not particularly edifying.

Carlson has form for saying that he actually hated Trump (about the 2020 election and the Jan 6th insurrection) but has rowed back on it. So, a nice, reliable man. eh?
