I am angry that this debate has hijacked our Parliament, when there are so many pressing domestic matters that urgently need attention. If the Speaker really was afraid that not having the amendment would place MPs in danger, as he said himself, then it is a very grave affront to our democracy. We should be careful of appearing to give in to any mob that demands that its point of view should prevail which is the overall impression this leaves. If our democratically elected representatives continue to be harassed and intimidated, even murdered, by various factions, where is the rule of law? And what kind of country are we becoming?

Galaxy I stand with Palestine ,have been supporting them for decades since we had a Palestinian colleague who lost his home due to landgrab by Israel I DONT SUPPORT HAMAS,IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM .I dont believe the caarnage in Gaza is anything other than genocide ...we ALL heaard the remarks from Israeli politicians...or should that be mass murderers last week.They wont be satisfied until the Palestinian people have been eradicated.
As far as I'm aware babies and children and most Palestinians aren't terrorists so why are you so accepting of their murder ?
Israel has been flouting International law for decades.No other nation would get away with this we need to stop it NOW .

I too agree, but I in no way blame “normal” Jews, nor the everyday folk in Israel, I hold their govts wholly to account. I do NOT support Hamas nor any of their actions, I do NOT hate Jews.

Yes you're right,but we also need to stamp down on those who want to change our way of life, Islamists stopping a candidate from appearing at hustings in Rochdale for instance, because they don't like his views, well I don't like their views ether, shall we stop then from producing a candidate. Well...things are certainly coming to a head, and people are being forced to confront the truth of what is happening in this country.
Perhaps now those in power will get their heads out of the clouds and face up to reality.
