It’s just been announced, Prince Harry has lost his appeal to have armed security provided when he is in Britain.
I’m not surprised.

But doesn't that mean he may not be able to visit his own home and family?

He didn't sign up to be royalty

He can pay for private security like other wealthy high profile figures. Or Charles will pay if he wants to see him.

He wants to pay but they cannot be armed. He wants armed security.

He wants to pay for it himself but for his security to be able to be armed, as those protecting other members of the RF are

Not allowed here, it is against the law for bodyguards to carry any weapons.

Although it may well be legal in the USA.

No-one hates them, as you keep trying to assert, Glorianny, although they may dislike what they do and be weary of their shenanigans.

I already said he can't.

We all realise that, even if Harry didn't.
[Sigh]

Whose expressed hatred Glorianny?

Callistemon21 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:11:05

It's an unfounded accusation often used by Glorianny.

VioletSky Wed 28-Feb-24 20:11:11

Ah thanks Glorianny

Well in his position I wouldn't bringing the children for any visits

People really let their hatred cloud their vision at times

What hatred VS? If you and Glorianny are going to imply that there are posters on this thread expressing hatred of H then back it up.

Callistemon21 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:16:24

Strange, isn't it.

Well, not because we know why some people do this.

Of course they don't Callistemon21 .grin
However even you can't dispute that he is probably more at risk than any other Royal.
As I said he will probably fly in and out of the UK occasionally, but Meghan and the children will not. Why would they? They are protected in the US. Here they would not be.
Seems a bit hard on the kids and on Charles, who probably won't see his grandkids (mind I'm not sure he'll be that bothered, he's not really affectionate is he?)

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:24:26

Doesn't make it anymore palatable though does it Callistemon.

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:27:21

I'm not aware that security concerns are why the King has never met his GD or seen his GS since he was a baby.

Oooh be careful Glorianny suggesting that Charles wont be bothered about seeing H's children because he's not really affectionate might be viewed as hate speech.

merlotgran Wed 28-Feb-24 20:27:45

I think the best way to ensure the safety of your children is to not make yourself so deeply unpopular in the first place.

welbeck Wed 28-Feb-24 20:29:27

Glorianny, what makes you say that about the King.
on the contrary, he seems v affectionate with his grandchildren, and probably step GC too.

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:31:39

Good point merlotgran.

Make what palatable? Proper protection for someone's children?

Glorianny Wed 28-Feb-24 20:35:47

Good to see the jolly old "sins of the father" still operates on GN. Wouldn't want any children's rights creeping in

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:36:24

No Glorianny my post was about your's and VS's unsubstantiated accusations of hatred.

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:39:04

What do children's rights have to do with the discussion?

If you're referring to H & M's children's rights, what about their rights to know their extended family which includes M's family who also live in America, but who they've never met?

Glorianny Wed 28-Feb-24 20:40:06

I don't think hatred is meant to be palatable.

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:42:19

It isn't palatable Glorianny anymore than unsubstantiated accusations of hatred are.

Oh absolutely nothing if you think they deserve all they get because of who their parents are.

Smileless2012 Wed 28-Feb-24 20:45:20
