As Cillafan said on another thread that "Donald Trump is a good man" who "knows what's right and what's wrong", I have no doubt whatsoever believing that she also sees Brexit as an enormous success.

I’ve voted in every single election since I came of age but this time I honestly don’t want to vote for any of them! I wouldn’t trust any of them to run my household let alone this country.

Sunak doesn’t have to call a GE so why would he, he can choose the timing.

Simple - the Tories have no chance, so he thinks he may as well sit there raking in the salary for as long as possible. Once there is a GE its game over - and sadly I have no more confidence in Labour to run the country than in the Tories. we could do with a complete independent

They obviously hope the Budget will improve the outcome which I very much doubt. Personally I dread the coming election and the way it will dominate every single news bulletin and newspaper. That, together with the main parties’ continuing failure to properly address the questions that much of the electorate want answers to. The name calling, the endless interviews and debates, again not getting anywhere. All sides making grand statements of intent and promises we know will be broken or conveniently shunted to one side once whichever side is in power. The parties now offer little choice-I do not think that a Labour government will be our saviour unless they know where the magic money tree grows! Expectations are running high for change. I’ve seen it before only to be disappointed. My main concern will be who to vote for. Not one of these clowns will make a truly great or decisive leader-there are too many people to please and appease in this faction torn country.

Most people can't be bothered to vote because they don't understand how politics affects their lives. A lot of voters vote with their emotions. Extremists in all parties play on people's fears because of this. We get MPs elected who win because of FPTP but have more people voting against them than for them.

I think we should have compulsory voting and a PR system.

Why should they? There is a complete disconnect between a large part of the population and the political institutions. Why should they participate in playing out a war thousands of miles from them.

I'm dismayed by the poor turnout at elections.
I'd like the government to use their last few months to make voting compulsory or at least look at ways of putting voting online.....loads of people vote for Strictly or I'm a Celebrity who'd never cast a political vote.

He’s leader of the opposition and as such has little power, other than holding the PM to account, which I think he does quite well

Sunak will wait to see the publics reaction to the budget first. I do believe he will call a May election before things get worse though.

Just heard Starmer bleating on about building more homes,my goodness come to my neck of the woods, everywhere you turn there's bloody houses going up.
People have to live somewhere. There is a serious homelessness problem in the UK, and a serious problem for a lot of young people who are unable to afford to buy a home because they are paying someone else's mortgage in the form of high rent. It's just as well they have someone to 'bleat on' for them', IMO 🐑

As for apprenticeships, I seem to remember you being all for the idea of their taking the place of a university education for other people's children. Even if they are alive and kicking in your area, one of the failed promises of the Tories was about levelling up across the country, so again, it's a good job someone is prepared to 'bleat on', is it not?

O don't understand the it about getting out of London, or about blindness, but it stands to reason that the Leader of the Opposition will push an agenda when there is an election looming. What else would you expect him to do?

I still worry about whether people will actually go out and vote, considering how often we are told that Labour will definitely win the GE when it comes. A lot of people might think it's a foregone conclusion so might not bother - remember the Brexit referendum?

What if the Tories got back by accident, without any idea what they were doing - why should they suddenly think of a good plan when they are obviously clueless now?

The longer you wait there is the chance of Labour shooting themselves in the foot. For example; if Starmer was out of the picture would Raynor get a big vote?
