Much as the title says. I know some GNetters have been fierce supporters of Israel's right to defend themselves by their incursion into Gaza. As the months go by and more information becomes available with regard to the treatment, deaths etc of Palestinians, has this changed anyone's opinion? Today evidence of the treatment of doctors and patients in the Nasser Hospital has been verified. Does this change your opinion?
It may be skewed to the Palestinian viewpoint blimey, just a bit!

Al-jazeera maybe skewed to the Palestinian viewpoint but its news reports are informative and give valuable information’

Do you think the schmucks in the tunnels know about their glorious leaders wealth 🤔I guess it’s like fighting for the king and country, you know he lives in luxury but you still are a patriot and willing to fight.
Do you suppose the kids sent to kill, and maybe die, in Gaza know Netanyahu is worth $80million?
Is that all?
Peanuts compared to the billionaire Hamas leaders.
The problem is the only figures I can find for the Hamas leaders are those issued by Israel. I have no doubt that they are living very comfortable lives, but I'm afraid I take the figures with a pinch of salt.
The Israelis describe Al-jazeera as anti-semitic. It's news broadcasts are important records of events. It may be skewed to the Palestinian viewpoint but its news reports are informative and give valuable information.
Thank you Urmstongran thank you

“ An Islamic Jihad spokesman has admitted that the militant group, rather than Israel, was responsible for a strike that damaged Gaza’s Al-Ahli Arab Hospital at the start of the war, reportedly killing dozens of people.
In an interrogation video released by the Israel Defence Force (IDF), Tarek Abu Shaluf, spokesman for the political wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, admitted that the strike on the hosptial was caused by “a local rocket. We said it was Israeli”.
“To erase this story, the movement [Islamic Jihad] made some moves, it made up a story that the rocket belonged to the occupation [Israel] and that the target was the [hospital] building,” said Mr Abu Shaluf, who was among 500 militants captured by the IDF last month.
The strike in October last year was initially suspected to have been carried out by Israel, with the country accusing the BBC of “modern blood libel” for jumping to conclusions in its reporting. Israel later accused Islamic Jihad of firing rockets which fell short and hit the hospital.”
Well, well.

Old news!
Thoroughly recommend the latest Leading podcast which I access foc on Spotify. no 68 Israel-Gaza: How the conflict divided Britain and the US by Ed Kessler. EK is a Jewish academic based at Cambridge and his field is inter faith relationships. Time listening was well spent and I got some cleaning done too.

Ask him, not me!
I don't have to. In November 2023, Netanyahu said, “From the beginning of the war, I set three goals: the elimination of Hamas, the return of all our abductees, and to ensure that Gaza will never again be a threat to Israel."
1 Hamas will not be eliminated while its leaders are abroad and it's being financed by Iran.
2 Sadly, I suspect many of the hostages are now dead, so they can't be returned.
3 While Gaza exists, it will always be a threat to Israel - even more so now and for future generations, because Gazans have every reason to hate Israelis.
So, Netanyahu can't win the war outright because he can never achieve those aims. Presumably that means that there will be a perpetual war, so any talk of the war being over is nonsensical.

Glorianny you believe the attack on Labour HQ has nothing to do with Jews
Of course it hasn't. It's a protest about an opposition party which has not only failed to do its job (opposing the government) but has abandoned a long history of opposing wars and the supply of armaments. Refusing to condemn the government for continuing to supply arms, making this country complicit in war crimes, or even to ask that supplies be stopped. War is something which has caused huge rifts in the LP before. It looks like it is happening again.
Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Belgium Italy and Spain have all stopped supplying arms to Israel. Are you suggesting Jews in those countries are not safe?
IDF:
“Remember when Islamic Jihad launched a rocket which misfired and landed at the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza? The whole world believed them…
Here’s the Islamic Jihad Spokesperson admitting how they, and Hamas, manipulate the media to turn their lies into international headlines:”
(Then a little video).

It doesn’t matter what Katie’s definition of the war is won is. It only matters what Netanyahu’s definition of the war is won is. I think Katie knows this.
So what is Netanyahu's definition?
RunaroundSue
To be truthful I have stopped wondering about other countries and their differences as they have been going on since Time immemorial and nothing will ever change. I think we have enough to worry about in the UK without worrying about what is happening in other countries.
But there are repercussions here in the UK as is evident from this thread, if not from watching the news.

It doesn't matter who supports who, the facts are Netanyahu has a majority in parliament and will continue the war in Gaza until it is won.
What ever your opinion of Jews he certainly has the support of the extreme religious parties and a majority or the others in the Knesset
In your opinion, what will be the definition of "the war is won"? Return of hostages? Capture/killing of all Hamas leaders? Total occupation of Gaza? Or something else?

Thank you for that Katie. The situation appears worse than I thought, but still there will be many who criticise Israel’s actions, and therefore indirectly support Hamas via support for Palestine. I will never support terrorists.

We hear a lot of Hamas propaganda that most believe without question here is some Israeli propaganda, it’s been confirmed by many other sources. It puts into perspective just how powerful Hamas is, how it manipulates the aid going into Gaza and undermined Fateh in Gaza and the West Bank
The hamas PR machine has worked brilliantly for them as all the well meaning but deceived people supporting Palestine on forums has shown.
As for Glorianny earnestly explaining that nutty groups targeting the LP ‘have nothing to do with Jews’ well, let’s say it provides some amusement on an otherwise very serious subject.
