I told you the other day I get my info from a Border Force senior official.

In that case, the official should be sacked. It is not permissible for a Border Force official to tittle tattle to anybody else, who might then spread the information elsewhere (as you have done Primrose53).

My daughter works in HR for the National Crime Agency. It's no secret what areas the NCA works in; it's on their website:

It is not permissible for staff to discuss operational details with anybody. My daughter was subject to stringent security checks when she was appointed, as were her family (including me). Part of her job is to discipline people who overstep the mark. I don't know any more details than that because, of course, she's not allowed to discuss them.

They don’t like illegal migration being talked about cos they feel ‘so sorry’ about people just wanting ‘a better life’.They don’t care about the strain on the NHS, schools and dentists and ultimately the tax payer and want to turn a blind eye to any religious, cultural or other problems as well as the fact that many may have criminal records.

If the NHS, schools, dentists and religious/cultural problems are the issue, why does the country allow hundreds of thousands of immigrants into the country legally? The UK has (and did have even when we were in the EU) total control over the majority of immigration.

I dont think it is the maybe majority of immigrants that are needed to help the UK, being talked about is it.

Prior to 1994 or whatever, the system worked well.

I couldnt tell you what changed, but I expect others could.

Is it safe to put a toe back into the water? Has all the deflection/ distraction/pearl clutching gone away yet?I was thinking of writing to The Guinness Book Of Records about it.

Rwanda is safe by African standards, Kigali is a modern city with a low crime rates and officials are less corrupt than most.
Rural areas are basic, traditional huts mud brick construction with an iron roof, not really different to other countries on the region.
The government is firmly in control to the extent that freedom of speech has its limits, I was part of a guided tour so no issues but you could travel freely, although I would take a guide to cope with local language and knowledge.

Rwanda want the money and are happy to be employed by the UK to do their dirty work.

At least she isn’t like some of the people I’ve met socially who always seem to turn the conversation round to ‘foreigners’ ( and, yes, that happened quite a few times and makes me feel very uncomfortable given that I try to avoid confrontation with people. Even when they get no response from me they still seem to continue with what they seem to think is something that I agree on.

I’m not ‘off on one again’ Casdon. My post wasn’t clear I admit. Some migrants had already gone missing according to Home Office figures. This latest raft of missing people are just the latest addition.

Indeed. the report makes it clear that a number were already "lost" and that the people "earmarked" for Rwanda are known and in the system. This obsession with proving Rwanda is a deterrent will grab anything to hand even if it proves nothing.

Has anyone here actually been to Rwanda ? I was wondering because some say it is a lovely place where it is good to visit but others say it is dangerous and primitive. What is the truth? I’m serious, I would like to know and I have never actually been there myself.
