Just saw this on News at Ten and it clearly is NOT Kate or William. The woman is nothing like Kate and William is not as heavy as the man in the photo.

However the Sun reckons it is them, so do News at Ten. 🤣🤣

FAKE News!

Apologies for another bit of useless information.
I think the original calendar idea has raised several millions for leukaemia. A lovely story. And to my mind Calendar Girls and The Full Monty had meaning beyond just getting your kit off like so many exhibitionists want to do today.

Silly me. Yes, probably the December Christmas one, above!
Did you know Helen Mirren wasn't keen to be in the film at first because she thought it too prudish in that quaint inimitable English WI way!

I expect that one month was a group photo.

You'd think so, but apparently there were eleven original WI ladies. I wonder which month didn't have a nude lady?

January? It is a bit chilly.

Shouldn't there be twelve? 🤔

Callistemon21 Thu 21-Mar-24 22:55:03

😁
I missed that!!

Joseann Thu 21-Mar-24 22:43:06

Callistemon I was jumping in on Jaxjacky's comment about The Calendar Girls, eleven of them I think.
(Though I'll probably get told off for being irrelevant in a minute. Or irreverent.)

Callistemon21 Thu 21-Mar-24 22:30:11

Joseann

That makes eleven then, doesn't it? grin

There are seven.

Princesses Alexandra, Anne, Beatrice, Eugenie, Louise, Charlotte, Lilibet.

NotSpaghetti Thu 21-Mar-24 22:13:27

Oh yes, I somehow missed that you'd already mentioned her. Apologies.

I though for a sec you meant The Calendargirls MaizieD and I’d missed something 🙂

And Princess Alexandra, (The Honourable Lady Ogilvy) - isn't she a princess by birth too?

She was one of Calendargirl's five.

Calendargirl Thu 21-Mar-24 21:12:07

I’ve already included Alexandra in the list.

Mocking is absolutely fine on pretty much any subject unless it breaks GN guidelines

Yes she is a born Princess. Her father was the Duke of Kent who was killed during the war and her mother was Princess Marina.

Anniebach Thu 21-Mar-24 20:52:31

I am very surprised at your mocking,

Iam64 Thu 21-Mar-24 20:50:01

I’m not anti monarchy but I’m surprised by the Princess pre-occupation. I have a 5 year old grandaughter who knows a thing or three about princesses 👑👸

The only Princess title Catherine has is Princess William, like Princess Michael. Only Princesses of the blood can call themselves Princess, (their Christian name,)of which there are only 5 entitled.

I queried this earlier.

I can think of Anne, Beatrice, Eugenie, Alexandra, Charlotte.

Is Lilibet now the same? If so, 6 instead of 5.

Anniebach Thu 21-Mar-24 17:58:32

Yes, Louise same a Beatrice, Eugenie and Zara

nightowl Thu 21-Mar-24 17:31:49

I believe Lady Louise, daughter of Prince Edward is also entitled to be styled HRH Princess Louise, but her parents chose not to request this and to use their Earl and Countess titles instead.

merlotgran Thu 21-Mar-24 16:28:24

I remember when it was explained why Princess Diana should be called Princess Charles and the public were having none of it.

Informally I don’t get worked up about what non blood princesses are called so long as it’s affectionate and not disrespectful. Obviously there are times when only the correct, formal title is appropriate.

DamaskRose Thu 21-Mar-24 15:59:02

Callistemon21

Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Just this.
I’m not interested enough to scrutinise the photo and can’t really see what all the fuss is about.
