A drop in the ocean in the great schemes of things....but replicated by how many more
Are you irritating in RL? (light hearted)
Bereavement wipes out everything
News flash just now but she says she feels really well and she looks it.
Starting chemo soon. The abdominal surgery found cancer.

I’m not a royalist. I don’t watch births, marriages, funerals, coronations, jubilees etc. Not interested.
But, obviously, on a human level, I wish her well. As I would with anyone.
She’s relatively young woman with a young family, so I hope the treatment works.
In the meantime, I think the media, social media and everyone should stop picking at this, and just leave her be.🙂
Agreed Callistemon- I’m the first to congratulate friends and family on good news events like babies and birthdays etc
However I’m absolutely last to comment, or worse question and query, anyone’s health issues, serious or otherwise. If they want to tell me they will…and in THEIR own good time!

More that we are expected to talk in a certain way I think. So questions about photos, or even just rubbish PR are dismissed as not important or conspiracy theories. Now obviously people can respond in any way they wish, that too is freedom of speech, but I find the telling off posts and shame on you stuff fairly breathtaking to be honest especially, when people spend vast swathes of time talking about the RF and commenting on their lives.
But am going to stop as there are real people in all of this, but I think that applies whether you are talking about 'fairytale' weddings or unpleasant subjects.
I'll repeat what I said earlier
As for people saying what she should have done, should be doing, I'd ask if they have ever had to cope with personally having to deal with cancer?
I don't even mean a loved one becoming ill, I mean themselves, when they are in shock, feeling ill, drained, having to tell family? And that without the intrusion of the media and trolling.
I view it all as intrusive, the comments on marriage, births, the comments on the bad guys, all of it. There is very little difference to me.
Galaxy how much more do you want to know about the health of Catherine?
All we are asked to do is extend to members of the RF the compassion and care we would extend to members of our family or anyone else, known or unknown in their position.
Nobody is trying to limit comment just asking that we extend the standards we embrace in private life to those in the public eye.

I think things have pretty much unravelled for many people and the RF ( wish them no ill) is not going to play much of a part in holding things together.
What are we not allowed to talk much about?
I find the idea that there are certain things we arent allowed to talk about much more destabilising and threatening to democracy. I dont mean the diagnosis in particular I mean any query or criticism is stamped on. That feels deeply unsettling to me. I actually find that an authoritarian approach.
Asking everyone to follow the script in the soap opera that has been created is odd.
With this conservative government?
welbeck
we are a constitutional monarchy, a democracy.
anything that sews discord tends to unravel the unity of the people, the common cause of the nation, to uphold justice and pursue peace.
destabilising makes everything unsteady.
without balance people fall, get hurt, the economy crashes, peace is lost.
people turn on each other, instead of working together. cynicism reigns.
that's how anarchists work.
they don't really stand for anything, just against law and order, against the rule of law.
they pursue chaos and care nothing for those who suffer thereby, mostly the poor and weak.
then a totalitarian regime can sweep in.
Rather like the chaos and dissent we are living with now
An abdication didn’t destabilise the monarchy

How would some tittle tattle about the RF destabilise the country please?
A cancer specialist on TV today said that Catherine's words will have been of immeasurable help to people suffering with cancer.
Their intention is apparently to destabilise the country.
What concerns me more is the report that the reason for the Princess of Wales broadcast was the knowledge that the American media had received at least three accounts of her confidential medical records and were ready to broadcast details.
I can't corroborate this but if it is true, it is truly dreadful.
It always amuses me when Russia, China, USA etc criticise our Royals - it appears that it’s not enough for them not to have a Royal Family, they want us not to want one either!
They’d be quick enough to criticise the level of unseemly nosiness by complete nonentities into their own upper echelons wouldn’t they!
How do you intend to stop the media by the way?
I don't. Why would I? I know that the best I can do is to not add to the lies and speculation about people, and their circumstances, I have no possibility of knowing actual facts. I can go one small step further by calling out the peddlers of rumours, conjecture and lies when I see them.

^I never said media intrusion. I never mentioned the word media.^
Correct
You have added your own words or intrepretaion, before my quote.
Correct
I dont pick up people on much of what they write.
But I will with misquotes. Which are deliberate, sloppy, misread, or unintentional.
Your opinion but that's all it is. Interesting that you've recognised my post though.
Thank you for saying that.
How do you intend to stop the media by the way?
There are now 7 billion people on the planet.
There must be an awful; lot of media.
Even in this country alone, there used to be 4 main tv channels for years.
Now there have to be hundreds.
There are another 200 countries. Many of which I guess have expanded their tv channels a lot too, from say even 50 years ago.
I never said media intrusion. I never mentioned the word media.
