She should, and hopefully will, be arrested. At the very least, she ahs committed perjury. I would like to see her stripped of her pension pot, as happens to Police officers. Can I just add, that Private Eye have been reporting this for years, nobody has suggested their investigations and subsequent articles are libellous. This has been known about for years.

Horrible woman and I hope she IS losing sleep over this.

Some of these churchy types are not nice people at all.

Perhaps she would if if she recognised the value of confession and bore the ninth commandment in mind .

She probably clears her conscience by going to weekly confession

maybe God has forgiven her angry
Or she tells herself that.

No-one else has.

In so many areas of our lives these days it is about protecting reputations over truth.

Why would there be such emphasis on NDAs? To hide the truth and cover up- it is now endemic in our society because people don't want the truth, they are often quite happy with the illusions created by the media because it is easier that way.

What astonishes me is the way the lies took so long to be found out, even though this story was in and out of the news for years.

Only when the TV series came out did people pretend they hadn't known.

If this isn't proof of the power of the media in our lives i don't know what is.

How do you know she has God on her side flappergirl?

She's not a useful scapegoat she's culpable because not only has she been one of those who have let this fiasco go unchecked for over 20 years, she lied when giving previously giving evidence, accepted huge bonuses and an CBE when she knew she'd done nothing to deserve either, and only returned her CBE due to public outrage.

She deserves to be in prison and I hope that's where she ends up. If she sleeps at night now, she might find she doesn't sleep as well if she's incarcerated.

She thought that the reputation of the Post Office was what mattered most. More important than the lives and reputations of the sub post masters. She might well still believe that, and therefore have no trouble sleeping. No one in positions of power is making any attempt to hold her to account for what she did, let alone be willing for her to receive any sort of punishment or give up any of the money that she was paid. So a win win for her, and no discouragement to anyone else who might want to do something similar.

She's a liar and a criminal but she has got God on her side don't forget.

She is also a very useful scapegoat and deflection from the people who have let this fiasco go unchecked for over 20 years. The bigger criminals are those who are dragging out compensation payments quite obviously in the hope that everyone will die.

I am tempted to answer the question with a facetious, but certainly true response
" In a very comfortable and expensive bed with top quality bedlinen"
For some people, that's enough reason to behave as they do.

Somebody is lying

Another ‘recollections may vary’ situation…

It just helps to increase the amount of cynicism there is.

We don’t know that Paula Vennells does sleep at night!

I expect we will all have seen her in her cycling gear avoiding questions from a reporter on TV yesterday?
This woman is an ordained Anglican priest, was once considered for the position of Bishop of London and earned £5 million as head of the Post Office.
Hmm, might there be a credibility gap, I wonder.
It appears that Channel 4 News have obtained a recording from 2013 in which Susan Crichton, the Post Office’s chief lawyer, confirmed twice that Ms Vennells had been briefed about a “covert operations team” that could remotely access the Horizon system and adjust branches’ accounts.
In the recording, Ms Crichton can be heard saying: “[Paula] knows about the allegation. She knows we are working on it.
“She’s got everything. The way that I’ve tried to brief Paula is, as soon as I have evidence that, you know, that there is a problem, she knows about it the next minute.”

Somebody is lying ,
