There have been no elections in Gaza because Palestinians living on the West Bank would not be permitted to vote. Until this was dealt with the Palestinian authorities refused to hold elections- nothing at all to do with Hamas.

All the people who have died in Israel and Gaza are the victims of Hamas.

Many Israelis are secular though Katie and the Hasidic Jews won’t join the army. They rely on the secular Jews to keep them safe.
Plus, Jews are not the only ones in the IDF, there are also Palestinians who don’t live in Gaza/The West Bank but instead live in Israel as full Israeli citizens, and they serve in the IDF too. It’s complicated.

I can see others points here, I guess if we “the UK” and the “USA” stopped supplying arms then less Palestinian children would be bombed.

Glorianny yet again you are ignoring the fact that it was due in part to the components supplied by the U.K. to the Israeli Air Force which enabled them to shoot 300+ drones and ballistics missiles down over the weekend.

If these Iranian bombs had found their targets many more lives would have been lost and ruined…

This country could certainly stop the Israeli military from bombing children.

As to the situation concerning Hamas, which is a terrorist group. Israel is a country founded and built through terrorism. I would imagine Hamas supporters would tell you if that is acceptable then they have a right to use terrorism to build a Palestinian state.

I've already explained about how the UK could stop the bombing but I'll do it again. The UK supplies tiny but vital parts for Israeli aircraft. If they stopped supplying them the aircraft would eventually be grounded and the bombing would stop.

It is obvious that this is far more than a small quantity of arms. I find this country's involvement in genocide completely unacceptable.

I have always made my views on Israel quite clear. It should comply with the UN resolutions and withdraw to the 1967 border. I have never said it has no right to exist.

As for Iran it is a complicated matter. Iran is a beautiful country with welcoming people. It is totally opposed to the US because they supplied Saddam Hussein with chemical weapons during the Iran-Iraq war. Its history has been corrupted by US interference. Thinking about it there is something of a pattern. US interferes and religious zealots take over- Iran, Afghanistan-bet there's more.

Note on my first post above: it's worth reading the whole of the Guardian article as of course Rafah lies directly on the border with Egypt so clear issues about overall relationships with other Arab states. The last paragraph is also interesting - which way the USA seems to be thinking
