This is happening far too often on our streets now.
Where are we failing?

It's still a tiny percent of the population who do this sort of thing. There isn't a single motive and I doubt very much that "we" as a society can do much to prevent incidents like this, unless somebody has a crystal ball and knew in advance that certain people are extremely likely to run through the streets stabbing people. I guess it depends if he had a specific target.

Presumably another person let down by the appalling mental health care in the UK. Dreadful for everyone; victims, bystanders, and the perpetrator's family.

It happened just over the track from my old home in a more desirable part of Redbridge. DGC go to the Waterpark close by, and Hainault Health Centre. All very normal.
Living in the area, the last thing we used to think about was ethnicity when things happened, because it is such a diverse community. I know there was an attempted murder shooting in the house next door but one to us, but I can't remember what nationality the victim was, except he was a cage fighter and the house was let by Russell Kane. I think he was planning a robbery.
What I'm saying is, you never know what is going on around you.

I have no idea what nationality he is, but he certainly has a fair (ie white) complexion.

After seeing him on the news I would say so.
Looks like paranoid schizophrenia, bobbing down under windows, hiding, then walking in a swaggering way in the road carrying a huge knife.He seemed to be acting out a fantasy in his head where he was cutting down his enemies.
There are too many situations like this now.

If you cause terror,it is terrorist related. This pussy footing around by the Met is ridiculous. Those poor people must have been terrified. ?Mental health problems do not lessen the terror caused.
