Last night, having nothing better to do, I watched Nige on Utube. He is quite savvy, creepy though he may be. He said the British election was already lost, Starmer will be returned as PM and the Labour Party will be on the nose after 5 years in power which is when the Reform a party will step in with an overwhelming majority. I actually think he might be right. He also thinks Trump will get in even with a guilty verdict and he wouldn’t say if he had been offered a post if and when he did. So Donald, his best mate, probably has something to offer there. Interesting.

Casdon Why are we not seeing more of the actual candidates though, or Richard Tice? Farage is now on TV so often that it’s predictable what he’s going to say, and voters needs to hear a wider viewpoint of what Reform’s plans are.

That's a good question. Why aren't we seeing more of Reform on TV? I notice the BBC News gave a summary of what each party had done that day, all parties including Plaid Cymru, DUP, SNP, Greens......but not a word on what Reform had done. The BBC is supposed to be impartial so why are they leaving them out?

The BBC have never been impartial.

I have to say he is a good speaker but then so were a lot of people who swayed millions! I think he is a better speaker than either Sunak or Starmer. I also think it is a mistake by the BBC to totally diss him because people notice things like that and are more likely to be interested in what he has to say. He is not a candidate, though, so shouldn’t appear during the electioneering.

Farage is something of a pundit, so he's a useful 'fill-in' on programmes covering current affairs / politics, etc.

I don't mean to flatter him - at all - but he's articulate and confident, which makes 'good' TV watching.

Personally I don't like his politics one bit, but I think the above is the reason why he's always on air. He's of course a good 'opposition' POV to the Left so the BBC can say they are creating political 'balance.

If you've got two or three Left-leaning politicians on the programme someone probably says, "I know, let's get old Nige in..."

Maybe not you but it is a general theme. I do worry that political parties and mainstream media are out of touch with a large section of the population. That generally doesnt end well.

I can agree with that.

Good comment.

I think he prefers to pontificate instead of doing the hard work involved in being a constituency MP and having to help people as well as the bigger politics. Also - not accountable.

There's a cartoon somewhere likening him to a fly which bites a horse and makes it kick. The fly, of course, doesn't appear to do much damage - it's the innocent horse which kicks somebody in the face.

Why get worked up about Farage. You don’t have to vote or support him. I don’t think he’s racist says it how he sees it.

I disagree with you. It is my absolute opinion that he is racist and that anybody who thinks he just "says it how is" is probably racist too.

But people didnt make those predictions did they. They were astounded at the Brexit vote and the Trump vote.
I nowhere said he was right about everything. That wouldnt be my style about anyone.

Actually I wasn't at all astounded at the Brexit vote or Trump win. I remember being very concerned that people seemed so complacent.

His relationships haven't lasted long. I find that concerning. Does he get bored with people or does he find their personal habits difficult to deal with?

Perhaps he’s just like millions of other people ( wives as well) who come to the conclusion that the relationship isn’t working.

I think he is probably fairly close to the mark in his predictions relating to trump and reform.

Even I could make certain predictions and be absolutely accurate. It really wouldn't be difficult if I cherry picked a handful of issues. That wouldn't mean that I'm right about everything - or even nearly everything. It also wouldn't mean that the welfare of the country would be safe in my hands. All it would mean is that I am capable of choosing my issues carefully, as many people would be, if put in that situation.

On a shallow note, does anyone think NF and Richard Tice have both been on a sunbed ? They both have fake looking tans. Plus, why doesn’t he get his teeth fixed?

I agree with the last sentence, which is why I don't understand why he gets so much attention and people take any notice of what he says

Agreed. Open Britain have today put out a letter for people to sign & submit, complaining to the BBC about his appearance on last night’s Question Time. He’s not a candidate for any party and, as such, the BBC should not be giving him air time. He completely took over the programme last night. Horrible little man!

Hang on a minute, Open Britain (who are supposed to work for democracy) is trying to ban someone from speaking on TV?

You say he is not a candidate for any party which is irrelevant and applies to most panellists on QT including the Bishop and Piers Morgan. We had to listen to the Bishop and Wes Streeting giving long rambles, so Farage certainly didn't take over the programme. Your post is full of bias and inaccuracies.

Just because you don't like him or agree with him doesn't mean he should be banned from joining in the debate. Presumably you just want to listen to people you agree with.

Reform have a candidate in my constituency. He has been in the UK since 2016. (He is from Cyprus). Granted he probably didn't arrive in a small boat, I still find it odd, given the voters they presumably hope to appeal to, that they didn't stand someone who was born in the UK.

Farage thinks Trump will be elected even with a guilty verdict. Hypothetically, does he think it's a good thing that a convicted criminal is president of the USA? What does that say about his respect for Law & Order?

Politics today makes the Monster Raving Looney Party look boringly sane.

It certainly does!

Poor old Nigel or as the song goes “Nigel just needs that helping hand”. I’ll happily help him to go across the pond!

And if young Nigel says he’s happy, he must be happy in his world.

Equally, doing something about immigration (or claiming you will) can be racist. Farage quite obviously is racist, as are some of the comments on GN.
