Last night, having nothing better to do, I watched Nige on Utube. He is quite savvy, creepy though he may be. He said the British election was already lost, Starmer will be returned as PM and the Labour Party will be on the nose after 5 years in power which is when the Reform a party will step in with an overwhelming majority. I actually think he might be right. He also thinks Trump will get in even with a guilty verdict and he wouldn’t say if he had been offered a post if and when he did. So Donald, his best mate, probably has something to offer there. Interesting.

Like many other MPs he is self-serving. He was upset at the timing of the election as he has better things to do in the US at that time. Obviously more lucrative things!

he is not an MP despite 7 attempts as candidate.

I cant believe how irate people get when talking about NF. You all got to vote for Brexit and the remainers lost. Its up to you to vote and change things. He must be good because he helped to get the Brexit vote and I would vote for Brexit again and I dont care who that upsets and how many of you clutch their pearls when they read this. My life is very fulfilled so I dont get my knickers in a twist like a lot of you lot do.

It reads to me that you do 'get your knickers in a twist' as you so charmingly put it. I won't disturb you in your fulfilled life by asking you for a list of Brexit benefits.

Yes he is good. Good at lying.

I dont get Farage at all.

I was expecting him to lead Reform. Or play a big role. But seems not?

Perhaps he likes to speak freer, rather than being tied to a Party?
Which may be better for the Country??

Well Reform isn’t a political party but a registered company I believe. And Tice is its main benefactor. And he’s set his sights on America.

DiamondLily Fri 31-May-24 12:06:26

With you there. Both attention seekers who bring nothing of relevance.🙄

Well, after last night, Farage and Piers Morgan are now tearing lumps out of each other, on social media.

It couldn't be happening to a nicer pair 🤣

So what he is actually forecasting is the end of the Conservative party and a take over by Reform? I think he underestimates the financial backing behind the Tories.
He's trying to make himself relevant at a time when the right wing has shown just how useless it is and the harm it causes. His only hope is to forecast the failure of a Labour government.

I think his only hope is that Trump wins in the US and he is installed as his UK factotum. I don’t think his future lies in UK politics.

JaneJudge Fri 31-May-24 11:18:31

I don't think he is suited to the world stage

maddyone Fri 31-May-24 11:12:35

I think the fact that he’s stood how many times for an MP and didn’t get elected put him off standing again.

This.

he’s certainly not MP material

I think there are many in the House of Commons who are not MP material.
George Galloway springs immediately to mind.

And don’t get me started on the House of Lords!

westendgirl Fri 31-May-24 11:08:39

sorry second line should say ...He's a chancer.

westendgirl Fri 31-May-24 11:07:14

He was useless as an MEP .Quite happy to take his salary but absent more often than not. He's a chancer and will side with the one which he thinks is more useful to him.He sided with Brexit and spun the lies. I suppose he thinks Donald will pay better.

maddyone Fri 31-May-24 11:04:57

Maybe because other MPs were doing their jobs rather than going to Dover every morning.

Farage isn’t an MP.

Always ready with the clever remark, he chickens out of standing for election. He's not a team player, preferring the limelight.

He’s lost the 7/8 times he’s tried to get a seat.

He’s all puff and fluff - but no real substance.

It’s always about him.

Nigel Farage is a disrupter but how far he can succeed is a guess. Also Farage makes a common mistake of believing what fits his narrative. I don’t find him any more creepy than other politicians.

Rather than focus on the unlikely chances of Reform being elected in 5 years, I’d like to hear what Farage thinks will happen to the UK’s economy in that period. All this constant jockeying for power is a bit exhausting to watch.

I think the fact that he’s stood how many times as a British MP, has probably out him off standing again! If he’d fulfilled his role as an MEP as he should have, ie turning up for every meeting, fighting to out right the things he didn’t agree with and actually earning his salary and pension, we might not be in post Brexit mess we are now experiencing.

He’s a snake oil salesman whom I wouldn’t trust as far as I could spit and he’s certainly not PM material (aside from in his fantasies)

Cossy Fri 31-May-24 10:26:32

Well he was right about all the boats coming in with illegals. He even was going to Dover 1st thing in the morning to count them and to say noone was stopping it. I dont think any other politcal person did that.

“Illegals” Whether we agree these people shouldn’t be coming in this way, these are HUMAN BEINGS!

Farage is a public enemy, but he's not stupid.

I agree, he’s creepy, hypocritical and a liar, but he’s not stupid.

I suspect Farage is more concerned about what happens to his own personal finances over the next five years than what happens to the UK's economy.

I expect we all are more concerned about our own personal finances

I actually expect an MP (or somebody who has tried to be an MP) to be more concerned about the country's finances.
