What on earth is it with the Tories!?

If he was shrewd he’d have a good manifesto and be keen to promote it, surely?

ronib Tue 11-Jun-24 13:28:41

Siope Farage is very shrewd - he must know that his manifesto (? Is there one?) won’t stand scrutiny.

The Independent is reporting that Farage has apparently cancelled his BBC Panorama interview with Nick Robinson.

I imagine he has flea bites from the Nazi appeasing dogs he’s whistled up.

Even though I’ve never voted Conservative and really want a Labour government I hope that the Conservative Party can sort itself out and be a credible opposition. I’ve said for a long time that UKIP didn’t go away but had morphed itself into the Tory party but they must surely veer away from being the extreme far right party that they are fast becoming.

I'd vote Labour (or Lib Dems tactically) because its clear the Conservatives as they are now have reached the end of the 14 year old road and its time to give an alternative at least a chance. Bear in mind there are going to be a constant stream of MSM scare tactics.

So disappointed with the Tory lot. I've been a Tory for years but no more. Goodness knows who I'll be voting for. Our Tory MP is a good one for our area but not so good otherwise. It is a real dilemma

The usual Tory strategy: spread fear of Labour and offer bribes to the voters. I'm not sure it works after 14 years of making a mess of the UK.

I hope they do still take up some screen time, if only to stop the loathesome Farage dominating our screens.

MaizieD is your remote control not working? So satisfying to turn Farage off!

DiamondLily Tue 11-Jun-24 10:22:28

Farage has done this in all recent elections. Thrown himself into the spotlight, making a lot of noise.

Which the media lap up.

When none of it comes to anything, come voting day, he fades away.

Until the next time..šŸ™„

Why is the BBC so in thrall to the ghastly Farage? He's apparently been on Question Time (which I don't watch, so just going by reports) far more often than some mainstream politicians.

It seems a good ad for karma. They have got away with destroying our country for far too long. I hope they keep messing up or better still disappear from our screens!

Yesterday on Daily Politics the Tory person visibly crumpled when he was told, 'No one likes you anymore,' and by a right-wing journalist to boot!

Sad but so satisfying.

John Crace in the Guardian calls him Jimmy Dimly grin

He stood up PM on Radio Four and was replaced by three teenage schoolgirls. Sounds like a plan to me...

MayBee70 Mon 10-Jun-24 18:41:06

I’ve just watched the later Conservative Party Political Broadcast and they are yet again saying that Labour will cost every household Ā£2,000 + and mention the treasury at the end of the broadcast. No mention of any of their policies.

maddyone Mon 10-Jun-24 18:31:12

Given the polls, I’m not surprised they are running scared.

DiamondLily Mon 10-Jun-24 18:18:30

Seems the Tories are running scared of questions.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 10-Jun-24 18:14:59

It gets worse!

He completely stood BBC PM upšŸ˜„šŸ˜„

DiamondLily Mon 10-Jun-24 18:03:34

He’s not known as ā€œnot so Cleverlyā€ for no reason. šŸ˜‰

Siope Mon 10-Jun-24 18:01:02

At least they aren’t still hiding in fridges…

Whitewavemark2 Mon 10-Jun-24 17:51:37

Yesterday we had the bizarre interview with the Tory chairman who answered completely different questions asked by th3 Sky reporter, who in the end gave up and stopped the interview.

Cleverly was just on BBC answering questions getting an easy ride for a few minutes, then he was asked a challenging question about how on earth they were going to pay for their proposed spend and he answered with waffle, then was challenged again and he said

ā€œSorry have to go I’m late for another appointmentā€

And he wentšŸ˜„šŸ˜„šŸ˜®
