You do have to wonder about the sort of home that not only doesn't know where the children are, but doesn't notice they are roaming around with a machete.

has anyone seen,
boy in the corner,
2022 film.
if not, why not.
esp if you have youngsters in the family.

they could have been runners for a gang, having to do serious violence to progress up the food chain, to prove themselves to the boss.
that's quite common, but rarely this serious.

But this is not about Labour or Conservatives. In fact these boys were born under a Conservative government and lived their whole lives under a Conservative government. This is about parenting and the availability of machetes and violence on films and games and so much more. It happened under Conservatives but could easily have happened under any other government.

These days there is so much exposure to violence...fictional in films and tv dramas.....real life on the news.
Sorry to say it yet again....but this is what happens when children have too much freedom, poor parenting ,no discipline and are not taught decent standards.
Is it any wonder that so many are dreading a Labour victory....when things are only going to get worse?

No words…….

Why? at age 12 do they not understand the severity of taking someone's life, what an earth has made them so desensitised. Really a shocking awful heartbreaking crime. I felt so sad for that young man's parents.

Older brother? 🤔

Iam64 Mon 10-Jun-24 21:06:00

That was one of my initial thoughts urmston how did these 12 year olds get a machete? It’s terrifying that if I buy a knife in a store, my age is checked but anyone can order dangerous knives but I can order all kinds of lethal machetes on line. Surely this trade should be stopped?

Mrs Seesahai said: “I got a call from Shawn’s friend who was staying with him. He told me Shawn had been stabbed and I just started crying.

“I told my husband and he asked for the phone to find out what had happened.”

Mr Seesahai added: “She kept saying that Shawn had been stabbed, I asked her what she meant and then she handed me the phone.

“I asked if Shawn was OK and he said that he was not, that he had passed away.

“About 30 minutes later I got a call from the police who asked if I was Shawn’s father and if I could spell Shawn’s name out. I said ‘yes’ and did, they told me they had bad news – that my son had been stabbed and had passed away.

“Getting a call like that is not nice for anyone. I tried to keep myself up but getting a message like that was not easy.”

The boys are expected to be sentenced in July.

Suresh and Manashwary Seesahai, the victim's parents, have questioned how such a young person could be in possession of a machete.

Mollygo Mon 10-Jun-24 20:20:55

Horrifying. How do they get hold of those weapons and what is going on in their minds?

crazyH Mon 10-Jun-24 20:18:27

Oh my word - what’s happening ? The parents af the victim are showing such dignity in the face of such unbearable loss🥲

We have gone wrong somewhere, haven't we? Surely these two children must have been exposed to violence/killing, possibly from a very young age. Where are their parents? Will they be charged?

TerriBull Mon 10-Jun-24 20:05:50

Awful, 12 years old walking about with machetes, attacking a stranger in such a barbaric manner. That poor, innocent young man. Heartbreaking.

Smileless2012 Mon 10-Jun-24 20:05:24

OMG shock

maddyone Mon 10-Jun-24 20:02:29

Yes, the youngest killers since little Jamie Bulger.
So appallingly sad.

zakouma66 Mon 10-Jun-24 20:02:10

What the hell is wrong with people?

maddyone Mon 10-Jun-24 20:01:20

He was only nineteen years old Cossy
and had his whole life in front of him.

Cossy Mon 10-Jun-24 20:01:04

They are the youngest to be convicted since the appalling murder of little Jamie Bulger

Cossy Mon 10-Jun-24 19:59:54

Absolutely and utterly horrifying, to be honest, I have no words.

I’ve just read a piece in The Guardian (sorry I’m rubbish at links) and it is about the murder of a young man who came to Britain from Anguilla in the Caribbean, to seek treatment for his cataracts. He was brutally murdered by two children, twelve years old, using a machete. They stabbed him though the heart and viciously punched him and stamped on his head. These two boys have apparently become two of the youngest convicted murderers in the UK after jurers unanimously found them guilty on Monday.
It appears that this young man suffered an appallingly violent attack, and I felt so saddened and overcome when reading how he died. Such a horrible death inflicted by children, who are too young to be named.
They will be sentenced in July and I really hope they will receive an appropriate sentence, because such young children committing such a violent attack are surely not going to be safe for release for a very long time.
