Course not. Most discussions have 'now and then' when it's important to know the source especially in an introduction.

Also its costs nothing to say "I read in the Guardian" "Fox News reported that"....

Urmstongran

So every time (over many weeks possibly) we have to quote what we’ve read or what we’ve been watching and/or provide links? Erm, I don’t think so. Can you just imagine all our posts?

Jeepers.

It's OK.

We know that you copy and post most of yours from the Telegraph.

And because its everywhere and will be already related undoubtedly to the upcoming election and views of Biden/Trump there is good reason to know where the everywhere comments come from.

Politically it is said that it dents Trumps claims of the justice system being rigged against him. Hunter Biden's trial followed due process and Democrats aren't trying to claim 'foul'.

Questions are being asked, of course, as to why the Republicans, who are keen to relax gun laws, were so keen to see HB prosecuted.

Apparently a first offence of this nature isn't likely to attract a custodial sentence.

Indeed. All over everywhere!

These are no longer allegations but the court verdict

Wyllow3 Tue 11-Jun-24 18:08:47

It will RosiesMaw and thank you.

There's going to be a lot on this all over SM, its good to start with this amount of detail.

Wyllow3 Tue 11-Jun-24 18:04:12

And so I usually always do, Urms. But why is it too much to ask to give a reference especially when specific allegations about what his past has been or comments like "And says ‘he’s proud of his son" or "murky dealings".

On political matters there are always POV from different sources. The Biden case is one such case. Why should we believe allegations in a serious conversation without sources?

This do?

It’s on all the news sites Wyllow3 (TV channels & newspapers) so take your pick. It’s not an opinion piece it’s straightforward reporting of the court case.

Wyllow3 Tue 11-Jun-24 17:47:34

Please can posters give references to allegations or reports so we can read them order to properly comment and give opinions or make?
I'd really, really appreciate it.

I’m sure that’s right Casdon.

I suspect we all love our children whatever they do.

Urmstongran Tue 11-Jun-24 17:30:32

And says ‘he’s proud of his son’. 🤔
Must be to do with (hopefully) kicking his addiction I guess?

Whitewavemark2 Tue 11-Jun-24 17:27:05

Joe Biden has said that he respects the court and the verdict.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 11-Jun-24 17:25:18

He is a sad individual, struggling for years with addiction.

Sarnia Tue 11-Jun-24 17:23:34

There is quite a lot of murky dealings surrounding Hunter Biden. 25 years if found guilty was being mentioned on the news.

Grannynannywanny

He might end up sharing bunk beds with Trump.

I doubt either of them will ever see the inside of a cell.🙄

Urmstongran Tue 11-Jun-24 17:20:45

😁

The verdict was about buying a gun in 2018 while addicted to crack cocaine.

He now faces a second federal trial in September on charges alleging he failed to pay at least $1.4 million (£1.1 million) in taxes over four years.

Urmstongran Tue 11-Jun-24 16:50:58

Took the jury less than a day to decide - speaks volumes.
