Took the jury less than a day to decide - speaks volumes.

There’s a saying, of course, about apples not falling far from trees.

People in high places make a great deal of money out of the drug trade. I suppose it's only natural that they should experiment with them themselves. This should give them an inkling of how drug addiction destroys people's lives.

Re/ political ramifications, the (big) difference is:

Hunter Biden - is son of president
Donald Trump - WAS president and is running again

No comparison

It's a good job a lot of us are not judged on past demeanours of children. It’s a case if hating the sin but loving the sinner.

Slap him right into jail. Wish we could put his father in there with him.

Abuse of women is often hidden. The men who abuse are able to appear to be good people when in reality they are anything but good people. When the women complain or tell other people about it, the men say they are mentally unstable. I know this. It happened in my family (not me.)

maddyone Sat 15-Jun-24 23:07:56

I agree with you too Galaxy.

Iam64 Sat 15-Jun-24 20:44:35

I’m with you on prostitution and pornography Galaxy
Damaging to everyone involved
It concerns my that it’s being normalised

Galaxy Sat 15-Jun-24 19:48:22

I think if you minimise and excuse hunters behaviour why should I take anyones concern about Trumps behaviour seriously. There doesnt seem to be any real concern for the women involved so I view it as politicking not actual concern for women. I am not keen on the abuse of women (that's how I view prostitution and I realise many dont agree with me and that's fine) being used to score political points if when its done by 'our side' its minimised.

So Galaxy. I understand your position about male abuse (I divorced due to abuse) but he was found guilty. What is your point…?
The Republicans are the ones making out that his son's ‘crimes’ make his FATHER corrupt!!

Do you think I am Trump supporter?
No I just dont see politics as a football team.
So if I think something is morally wrong I think that whatever politics that person holds they are morally wrong.
I hate the minimising of abuse and misogyny.

That was Hunter when addicted… he has since been reformed and making amends…
Trump on the other hand was doing all his whoring, adultery and abuse of women …and still slagging off women … whilst stone cold sober. He doesn’t drink and has never been addicted.

And NEVER reformed. Trump is Still the same sleazy grifter and con-man who said “They let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy.”

Galaxy Sat 15-Jun-24 19:37:38

I couldnt care less about the sad excuses men make to abuse women. You seem to think I should care about the addiction story.
She was nagging me.
I was stressed due to lockdown.
She really liked strangulation.
He was such a good family man.
All descriptions/excuses of sad men who hurt women.
The statistics on men who use prostitutes are terrifying, whether drunk or sober.

I wonder how many Americans have bought a gun whilst taking drugs?

I couldnt care less about the sad feelings of a man who uses prostitutes. Foul man.

Like Trump does?

Took the jury less than a day to decide - speaks volumes.

Speaks volumes about what? That he was guilty, almost certainly. What else. I feel quite sorry for him, the Republicans have tried for years to pin things on him, in order to try to harm his loving Dad! Having published salacious and pornographic pics from his laptop on SM, the egregious MTG showing those pics in a fishing Congressional hearing, etc, etc.
He has never been in politics or held any political post, but still they try. Wait till all the info on Trumps s-i-l eventually surfaces…talk about corruption. Trump himself got more money siphoned into his businesses, etc, whilst he was President…and shouldn’t have, etc, etc, but the GOP is intent on casting slurs on Hunter Biden, because they can’t find any corruption on his father! But he went through his case with dignity and was rightly found guilty ( even though he only had the gun for 11 days ) .
Trump was also found guilty proving no man is above the law, but he squealed, and whined and asked His GOP to get him off throughout and is still whining, doing all he can to delay and get off ( in ALL the cases against him), manipulates and threatening revenge against all involved… contrast that with Joe Biden who has calmly said he won’t interfere with the law or pardon Hunter, despite loving his son!
See the difference… Trump is morally bereft. Joe Biden follows the law and is a good man, he may be SLIGHTLY older than the egregious Trump, but lots of us are his age and are we mentally unfit just because we are old?
And all this is from a UK citizen!

The laughter emojis was at the thought of Trump and H Biden sharing a cell.....

He is a sad individual, struggling for years with addiction.

I agree. I am not excusing his crimes and charges, but it seems to me that he is a damaged man, possibly suffering from survivor's guilt, comparing himself unfavourably to both his dead baby sister and dead military hero brother.

maddyone Sat 15-Jun-24 13:30:38

I have heard about this on various news outlets and I’m surprised if anyone hasn’t. Have to admit, I haven’t taken much notice though, except to realise it happened.

This do?

Where’s the rumpy pumpy videos he recorded with his dead brothers wife 🤦🏼‍♀️

Urmstongran Tue 11-Jun-24 19:53:05

No, I don’t think so Whitewave.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 11-Jun-24 19:06:43

Are we suggesting that Biden’s son will influence Biden’s behaviour and choices? He hasn’t done so up to now.
