She has a sense of duty and obligation, like her brother the King and her late mother. Choice doesn’t come into it.

I’m sure she is a very worthy person, what I’m saying is she doesn’t have to do this so called “job”, if she announced her “retirement” would anyone be that bothered? I’m sure most people would think fair enough. Is she being forced into it? No - it’s her choice.

She must spend a lot of time doing her homework before meeting different people, groups and organisations because she is always spot on and asks pertinent questions.

Yes a phone call counts as an engagement in royal diaries it’s not always public facing. But her choice if she wants to do it, but does the public really demand her to continue?

Her visits are always welcomed. She is always knowledgable about the cause or organisation she is visiting, she chats in an an interested way to everyone (not just the top brass) as though they are human beings, and she doesn't demand that people kowtow to her. As a result she is often asked to return.

I expect all the Royals have an earthy SOH 😁

Why get het up about Princess Anne?

We have no idea what her life’s really like, or whether she enjoys her job.

Do we personally know that a 10 minute phone call counts as an engagement? If the person on the other end of the line is happy, then does it matter?
Do you suppose she sends those irritating How did I do? follow up texts?

Perhaps she likes meeting new people, like posters on GN do.

I’m sorry she was injured. I’m glad she’s on the mend. If she chooses to retire from public engagements, I hope she enjoys her retirement.

The last time I saw her was one afternoon when she attended our Carol service, read a lesson. She'd already carried out another public duty that morning presenting awards and was going to London for a State Banquet afterwards. I suppose she could have told the visiting Head of State to naff 'orf but she is much too professional for that.

Does the public really demand anything of PA? She could say no if she is asked to do anything too demanding. A 10 minute phone call counts as an “engagement” in her diary. If she wants to hang up her riding hat I’m sure the public would be fine about it .

How do you mean rewarded handsomely?

She gets expenses from the Sovereign Grant for doing the job, at 73, that the public demands of her.
I doubt many of us are still carrying out such a schedule of duties at that age.

She has been shaking hands a long long time. She shook mine when she handed me my degree in the Royal Albert Hall. I was 22, she was 29.

She carries out more engagements than any other member of the RF, several per day, and has always done her homework first. She is patron of many charities and is far more to them than just a name on their headed paper.

Princess Anne rarely puts a hood/paw/foot wrong. She’s always been a straight forward hard working member of the RF. I’m certain she does much more than shaking hands and chatting.
I’d even say she’s a role model in That Family. Her own children seem to be following her lead, work hard/have fun/keep fairly private

They won’t be any old wax dolls though but limited edition effigies made from recycled American Riviera Orchard scented candles of which there are only four to be sent out to worthy recipients like Omid Scobie and besties we’ve never heard of.
