We live in an extremely Labour area of Wales with a go old candidate. But I have never , ever v opted Labour, and here, a Conservative would never get elected. So tactical vote? Plaid Cymru ? I am really torn.
How can we thank the Fire Service?
Just wondering if anyone, anywhere on here, is voting for anyone other than Sunak or Starmer . It seems 99% here are voting Labour and a brave 1% Conservative. Aren’t there any others being voted for? What about the Greens, Liberals or Reform? Anyone?

I have no idea who Andrew Parker is but the comment was very rude. I’d be pretty certain that biglouis is not a personal friend of this bloke, so what’s your problem? Are the rest of the candidates squeaky clean or something ? I somehow doubt that.
Reform, Andrew Parker. Lovely chap eh ? Represents your views? Good to know the company you keep and who you admire.
let's hear it for Count Binface
I voted Reform (postal vote). This is the first time I have not voted conservative. I cannot in all conscience vote labour.
Sorry, OP, but unless we live in the constituencies where they are standing, we cannot vote for Sunak or Starmer. We do not have a presidential system, which is why I find these American-style debates with party leaders so tedious and pointless. Rant over (temporarily anyway).
Cossy. I totally agree that everyone should use their vote. Yes, that is democracy.
Those who don’t vote have no right to complain about any consequences.
Maddyone... That's interesting as I too live in the Flick Drummond constituency, for my particular area she's been a very good visual MP.
Think your right LibDems will get Winchester, she will be out of a seat, which I personally think will be a shame.
This area with the boundary changes I am sure will stay Conservative, although with a drop in majority.
The LP also wants to control immigration. It’s probably the first issue raised with activists involved in canvassing. The Rwanda scheme is just wrong on every level.
Our local refugee/asylum seeker support group confirms the majority seeking refuge are from Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq. No one could claim they’re safe places .
At the moment I can’t bring myself to vote for any of the parties and yet I feel guilty not to exercise the vote that my grandmother fought to get.
I am amongst the priviliged minority of voters who can vote for the party we want to win, knowing that our candidate has a good chance of winning.
I support the Liberal Democrats and live in a constituency where the only two parties which could ever win are the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives.
It has not always been like that. When we first moved here the Conservatives controlled every level of government - Parish Council, District Council, County Council, MP and MEP.
Gradually, over many years that changed, thanks to the hard work of so many Liberals and then Liberal Democrats, we started to elect councillors who did a good job, then in 1985 took control of the County Council. By 1997 we had our MP and a brilliant MEP.
I feel lucky to have been able to support good candidates who actually got elected and I understand how difficult it must be for people who passionately support the Labour Party and the Green Party in an area like ours, and for fellow Liberals in areas where our party never even comes second.
That is just one of the many disadvantages of the First Past The Post Electoral System which we must campaign to change to Proportional Representation if the UK is ever to become a true democracy.
I think GN reflects its demography as far as party support is concerned.
So people over 71 largely support the Tories, but that has risen from the 50s or even 40s.
It is obvious that this forum does not reflect the country when you go on other forums or listen to phone ins etc.
I don’t think anything could happen in the next week that would help me decide. My husband feels the same way I do and says he might not vote. I don’t feel that’s an option for me as a woman. I might end up voting for the independent candidate, but I think that’s a bit of a cop out because he won’t get in. We live in a Conservative constituency and I don’t think that will change as it’s been the same ever since we moved here forty years ago. Our current MP is Flick Drummond but because of boundary changes she is standing in Winchester this time, and the LibDems are almost certain to win there, and she’ll lose her seat, and that’s good as I feel she’s not been a good MP for the area and doesn’t even answer letters sent to her.
None of this helps me decide. I admire neither Sunak nor Starmer. I want the NHS to be improved but I want immigration to be controlled. Opposing views, one left, one right. I just don’t know.

Have you not seen all the Reform voters? There are loads of them!
Correct. We badly need a change and some bravery
What can happen between now and Independence Day to help you decide maddyone
I still haven’t decided who to vote for.

I posted my vote yesterday and got home after doing a bit of shopping to find that Peggy my JR had torn the Reform candidate’s leaflet to shreds. She left the rest of the post alone.
Too late anyway as I’d already made my choice. 😂
Jack Russell’s are ‘special ‘. After three separate occasions when a jack hurled himself onto my lab’s neck, the lab is sadly on alert if he sees one.
Yours is obviously a very bright example of this clever breed Merlot 🐕

I’m just amazed that people are happy to tell which way they are voting. As far as I’m concerned our elections are by secret vote and I’ll keep mine that way.
That’s a personal choice. I have absolutely no issue in publicising my vote, and no many won’t agree with me, but that’s OK, it’s why we live in a Democracy.
Personally, I don’t really care who vote for, so long as they vote!
I wish everyone good luck and I’m taking absolutely nothing for granted!

Interesting. Down to Nigel’s speech making skills? I actually meant on gransnet, though. Nearly everyone seems to like Starmer on here.
There are a good few Reform UK supporters on here and a few Conservatives. I’m a LP supporter, doesn’t mean I “like” Starmer.

I'm voting for The Reform Party.
I’ve sent my vote in, but won’t say who I’ve voted for.
As I want Independence for my country I will vote SNP. After we finally get independence, there will be a chance to choose different political parties (as those not trying for Independence have now). SNP have improved life in Scotland although not done so well in gaining Independence for our Nation as yet. Hopefully that will change. I'm glad not to want or have the choice of Labour vs Conservatives.
I don’t worry about keeping my vote confidential. I’ll vote Labour - our candidate lives across the road. Been a neighbour and active in our CLP for many years. Our previous good Labour MP lost his seat last time - thanks largely to the Corbyn effect
