Not "smoothers in the west" but "others in the West".

Possibly because Palestine was a British Protectorate GGG13 and the UK was part of forming Israel back in 1948 - what ever the reasons, the UK has always had a "special interest".

Possibly because the area geographically is a key flashpoint in relationships between different cultures - Israel is seen by the USA and smoothers in the west for example as a stronghold against Iran.

Internationally the establishment of a State of Palestine has been a constant source of debate in the UN in a way no other has all these years. And its been in and out of the news ever since 1948.

I do think many of us are concerned about children as the victims of war and many other things which severely impact children’s lives.

There’s lots and lots of charities, many of whom advertise on TV, to sponsor many children in many different countries.

I think that there’s a lot of media coverage around the orphaned children in Gaza as they are trapped there, with nowhere to go and many of them with no relatives to care for them.

Some have links to the UK, but our govt have refused to talk about having those here.

It’s an atrocious battle, between two countries, neither willing to give up or give in. Children are suffering on both sides. We are funding Israel still.

It’s notWAR it’s genocide…that’s the difference Israel has been trying to get rid of Palestinians for decades, since the inception of Israel in fact The October 7th massacre. Gave them the chance to finish the job we enabled them to start by giving land with few if any restrictions. They want to rid the area of Palestinian people ,they don’t hide thatFACT It’s just sad the world has sat by and watched Now the land in Gaza is being advertised for sale…to Israelis for building new homes .

I am puzzled by the fact that so much emphasis is on highlighting the many orphaned and injured children in the Gaza/Israel war.

Is nobody bothered about the children in Syria, Sudan, the Uyghurs, Afghanistan etc.?
