There is a big difference between flying in an official plane to an international summit, and popping up and down to places like Southampton in privately owned helicopters and planes which are being paid for by party donors.

ronib it’s been less than a week. Your short term expectations are unrealistic, particularly for a party you don’t think can do the job. As my son says to me, time to take a chill pill.

Te flight to the US would have already been booked, it’s not the sort of arrangement you make in less than a week. I’d imagine there is a contract in place with a company for a set period.

Curtailing is not banning and banning would be impractical. There will be real security issues about Starmer and others using commercial flights, with known tiletables and flight paths, plus the right flight may not be going to the right place at the right time.

Thee should be solar panels on all new commercial and industrial buildings. Most have flat roofs.

There should also be incentives for retrofitting them on existing commercial and industrial buildings.

Solar panels can objectively be installed in any setting which allows contact with sunlight. The problem is a lack of application and imagination. They also need to be maintained and replaced given time.

Here in the south there was an initiative which stalled under the Tories, but I assume could easily be restarted.

Far better than using up farmland with swathes of solar panels.

There are none in my county, in the next county there are a lot scattered across the rural area in small groups, obviously wind speed is higher at higher elevations but these are exactly the places they can be seen more easily. Many are also areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or National Parks, on the continent they have a remedy for that, they paint them green!.

Wind turbines can't just be placed anywhere. The ground has to be geologically sound too. DS writes up reports for sites after strict tests have been carried out. Then, all the foundations have to be laid down. Lengthy process.
I hope we can tap into more renewable sources. Solar panels are the easiest installation, but I'm sure other sources will eventually become more widespread too.
