I think it is an exception as he was such a popular man. The crematorium service was strictly private at family's request but the procession was very long.

I suspect the crematorium decided Sunday was a good day as there would be no other cremations taking place.

May he rest in peace.

Maybe a concession was made as today's date is 7th of July (7th month)

I don't think it is unusual in new crematoriums, would be unusual in Church - especially Catholic

Rob Borrows funeral cremation is being held today. I have never heard of a funeral/ cremation being held on a Sunday before? And I have had family members working in the funeral industry.
