Exactly, that's my point, people in need are people in need wherever they are. tbh I don't believe in a hierachy of "need". however, I doubt there are people starving to death in the UK, whereas in other parts of the world there are people who depend on aid in order to stay alive. We may be unhappy with the NHS but some people in the world have absolutely no access to medical services apart from those provided by aid agencies etc etc. As I've already said, I am happy for 0.5% of my contributions to the state to be used for people living in abject poverty in other countries, you might not be but that's what most civilised societies agree to donate at the minimum.
