But wouldn’t it better to keep the conversation above the dregs?

Yes, you’re right of course. I apologise.

👍

Kamala Harris has of course been slated for laughing at inappropriate moments.
Perhaps it’s a nervous thing when she’s being pressed hard during interviews.

I think Jo Biden is a good man. He’s been a good POTUS. It’s very, very sad to see his recent age-related demise, and it must have been a hard decision for him to step down. I believe he’s done it for the good of America, in order to get rid of Trump🤞

Well done Jo - I wish you well. There’s no shame in being 82 years old and not being up to the most difficult job in the world.

I’m keen to hear from our American Gransnetter(s) - what do you think about the decision? This touches you even more than it touches us.

I didn’t think up the moniker! It’s common parlance.

No worse than Bumbling Boris!

Governor Josh Shapiro is the Democrat who I was trying to recall.

MayBee70 Sun 21-Jul-24 19:59:18

How vile to call her Kackling Kamala. You’re sinking to the depths of your hero Trump sad

Whitewavemark2 Sun 21-Jul-24 19:58:29

Oh dear urms

Urmstongran Sun 21-Jul-24 19:56:39

Apologies again Rekarie! I didn’t check up thread. 🤣

Don’t the Democrats have to keep Kackling Kamala on the ticket to keep donated funds?

I think she’ll choose a white male running mate. The one from Pennsylvania (a swing state). I’ve forgotten his name. Joe/Josh something or other.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 21-Jul-24 19:54:02

Yes that’s correct.

The question now is who will Harris choose as her running mate.

CNN says that all the polls up to now must be discarded and it is all to play for.

Biden refuses to endorse Kamala Harris.

That’s not true.

It was.
For a few minutes only on SKY news. Do keep up.

According to the Washington Post he has endorsed V P Harris. I think you can believe that. CNN have also reported the same information.

Donald Trump is going to win “bigly” … 😁

No surprises him resigning but 4 months is a very long time in politics, an inspiring new Democrat leader could change everything, we wait and see who emerges as candidate.

I agree with those who think Trump will win no matter who the Dem candidate is now. He’s become an American hero with how he behaved when he was shot through the ear.
The only slight chance it has is if they find a younger man who’s got military experience.

I think it depends very much on who the Democrat candidate will be. It’s not over yet, there’s a good chance that a charismatic Democrat leader would beat Trump, because despite all the shouting and fawning to him, he isn’t popular with the average American, certainly in the big cities.

I agree. I like Pete Buttigieg. A Harris/Buttigieg ticket?

So - he has dropped out of the election race but has not stood down as President. Seems we will have to endure several more months with him in charge . He has also betrayed his personally selected VP as SHE will have to scrap with the other power graspers for the nomination .

If he had done the decent thing and stepped down as President she would have taken over and been the heir apparent . He is finishing his career in the normal mode …self centred ,self serving and untrustworthy.

At least he hasn’t caused in insurrection in which people died…

Biden’s exit gives Democrats an opportunity to show a competent and reasonable plan for the future of the United States. I sincerely hope that the party have time to get organised and show Trump that the election is not his to win.

At least Biden isn’t a convicted felon unlike Trump who has the audacity to call Biden ‘crooked Joe’.

Visgir1 Sun 21-Jul-24 19:39:14

For his own good, I'm glad.
Ms Harris, let's hope she not being put in just to be the "fall guy".
Wish her the best of luck.

Phew! The right decision at last.

Rekarie Sun 21-Jul-24 19:33:15

It was true for about 5 minutes, Siope!
