Donald Trump is going to win “bigly” … 😁

Yes WWM2, good old Sky news. Breaking news that he isn't endorsing her then 5 minutes later he is!

So - he has dropped out of the election race but has not stood down as President. Seems we will have to endure several more months with him in charge . He has also betrayed his personally selected VP as SHE will have to scrap with the other power graspers for the nomination .

If he had done the decent thing and stepped down as President she would have taken over and been the heir apparent . He is finishing his career in the normal mode …self centred ,self serving and untrustworthy.

Only Kamala Harris can access the funds donated to the election campaign and it’s too late for anyone else. Good luck to her.

I’m afraid it has been totally bungled and the damage done.
Factor in the martyrdom of Trump and I fear his success is inevitable. There might have been a chance if the Democrats had really put themselves out to find a strong and popular (and competent!) opponent, but doing nothing until their hand is forced is electoral suicide.

You never have yet😊

I’m glad I haven’t disappointed you Whitewave! 😊

Democrats and Joe Biden’s lies have unravelled. He and his party claimed he was okay - sharp, nothing wrong with him - and now he quits. Democrats have brought this karma on themselves. Their lies are appalling,

Trump will win with a landslide.

You would say that wouldn’t you!

Whitewavemark2 Sun 21-Jul-24 19:20:47

Who has said that he has dementia?

It’s the right decision of course but why did he drag the inevitable out so long?

It is said though that those in the relatively early stages of dementia are in complete denial, arguing fiercely with anyone who tries to tactfully suggest there might be a problem.

Perfectly understandable I’m sure, but not when you are the President of the most powerful country in the world.

Biden is refusing to endorse Kamala.

He is right I think. She is not a very good politician/communicator.

Oh apparently that isn’t correct he endorses Harris.

I do think that he has been a good president. He brought stability to the USA. It is so easy to forget the mess it was in politically at the end of Trump’s term.

Joe Biden has dramatically quit the race for president, bowing to pleas from key political allies. Here is his statement in full.

“My Fellow Americans,

Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation. Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.

I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.

I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision. For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected. I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can’t do - when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.“

I hope Josh Shapiro or Gavin Newson.

Yes, I’ve been following on CNN, which is nearer the pulse than we are.

grandMattie Sun 21-Jul-24 19:03:10
