I do wonder how matters will pan out with Netanyahu's current reign in Israel: the USA wants a strong base there against Iran, how will they feel with China at its front door?

I well remember my old geography teacher in the 60s saying, ‘China is public enemy number one!’
That was of course in the days of Mao, but IMO she’d be saying it even more vehemently now.

China has been a world power for at least 2 decades, lending huge sums of money to impoverished countriess then imposing their terms and conditions on them, including exploiting their natural resources. to China's advantage and the coutries disadvantage.

China now owns huge areas or has ruling interests in many other countries now eg Africa, Mongolia, Tibet, the Philipines, Nepal, Japan and Asia... including buying companies in USA and the many buildings it owns in the UK..It owns £134 billion in business interests in the UK

The world is changing and people want to cling on to the past.

China supplies Russia with goods over their border. They have long been allies and whilst most of Europe condemns Putin, the Chinese understand him because they are on the same wavelength taking over and moving into other nations. They are a bit more subtle about it.

After the fall of the USSR there were three great powers in the world -USA, China and the EU.

Since Brexit, the EU has been weakened and since Putin's success in helping to engineer the Leave vote then helping Trump to be elected in 2016, he has been emboldened to attack Ukraine.

There are now only two major world powers- the USA and China, but the continuing power of the USA is entirely dependent on Trump being defeated in November.

China shouldn’t have any say in the matter full stop.

China is the most powerfully country in the world now, getting more powerful every year. Things will be very different in the future.
