And I’ve have thought a cyst will be found not to be a recent finding. It’s not an injury like a haematoma. This could have pre-dated the incident. Medics will assess and determine -hence we ought not to jump to conclusions calling it ‘brain injury’.

The police officer had to act very very fast. He had a gun in one hand and was using his other hand to restrain. All he had left to help were his feet. The one on the floor had one free arm and was very strong. There were at least six men of the other brand getting involved. The officer quite likely saved several people in process. The public should be getting behind him, otherwise you get wimps in the police force

There would have been none of the above if the men had simply followed verbal instructions but no, they wanted a fight with our police and they wanted a video. Mob trouble will follow

let justice take its course: the policeman involved will have to be assessed, as will those who provoked the incident, the injuries addressed from all those involved. The policeman will have legal assistance, as well as those charged with offences.

I’m relieved we have Andy Burnham and his deputy Kate Green being calm, measured and reassuring today.
Local news says the mother of one of the men involved in the earlier skirmish (not yet on public display) had arrived from Pakistan. She told her son about some problem on the plane and some kind of disagreement between two groups occurred. Andy B has met with police and viewed vids. He is satisfied GMP suspended the officer who kicked and stamped but implies that this isn’t ’clear cut’. That doesn’t mean he is minimising the seriousness of the assault

Well some know how to play the system, I expect he's been in touch with his solicitor and a compensation claim will be in the post pronto. I'm with the policeman hope he doesn't lose his job.

But it wasn't police that released it, it was released by the one who filmed it, put it out on social media to stir things up.

and just seeing that bit, hardly surprising, led to the troubled reaction.

perhaps the best way forward is to release as full information as soon as possible which shows what led to that event for those who just see the kicking.

as well as making it clear kicking in the head is not acceptable.

It simply doesn’t matter what happened prior to the excessive violence and summary justice meted out by the suspended. Police officer. So even if we see the entire incident from start to finish, what the GMP officer did was wrong

On the contrary it DOES matter very much what happened earlier.

The men were causing an affray with passengers from the plane their mother had been on. They were being arrested when they attacked the police officers causing 3 officers to be taken to hospital and one female officer was hit in the face and had her nose broken. I believe these were armed officers, therefore it was of the utmost urgency that they were rescued from this situation. When the emergency button is pressed and “officer down” or similar goes out all available officers rush to the scene.

These men had been causing trouble, police officers tried to arrest them and were attacked viciously.

A mob then gathers outside the police station and demands, yes demands their release.

I find that very troubling indeed.

The video available is a small sample.

There are eye witnesses saying that the men were videoing all the way from the plane and customs, which is illegal with numerous notices saying no photography.

Funny they haven’t released the footage of the police officers being assaulted…

Any information now has to be part of a proper enquiry

police interviews

and so on.
