All this rubbish about the male officer taking revenge on a poor young man that was on the floor having been tasered.

Those spouting this line haven’t taken into account the fact that having been punched in the face and head so many times, put in a chokehold and pulled to the floor, that it was highly unlikely he was even aware the thug had been tasered. He was jumped on from behind and pulled to the ground. His first instinct was to jump up and make sure that nutcase stayed down.

Let’s not forget he was only suspended when senior officers caved to outside pressure.

It's the usual argument. Men are much stronger than women and will usually prevail in a fight. I know male officers can feel responsible for the females even though the women don't want that.
I think there were 2 policewomen and one policeman. I believe he would have felt angry to see the women being beaten up.
It does make you wonder if policewomen should be employed in these roles. Had it been three men the story may have been very different.

Otherwise why are they out on the streets in that uniform?How would they protect others if they can’t look after themselves?

I expect it will be taken into account (well, I hope so anyway). Yes, he should have been suspended and I hope he had medical treatment. He shouldn't have done what he did (and I expect he knows that too), so hopefully an investigation will have all the facts and go through them rationally.

No news bulletin is on without another horrible attack, often on the innocent and vulnerable, women and children.

I have watched the video of the brutal attack on the police officers. The officer who kicked the man on the floor had been punched in the head, allegedly, fifteen times. Would he have been thinking straight after that level of violence.
He has to be suspended after this but the fact that he was injured and must have been afraid for himself and his colleagues needs to be taken into account.
The two men who attacked the police are the real criminals in this not the police trying to do their jobs.

What are you talking about the police joining in, the police were being attacked.

When that police officer kicked and stamped on the man in blue, he had been tasered and was head down on the ground. Of course he should have been arrested for his own attack, but there was no reason to attack him back. The police should not be stooping to the level of attackers, however angry and frustrated they are.

We have family members in the Met, and friends in our County Police.

The abuse and violence which they have to endure on a daily basis is disgusting. Why anyone would want to be a police officer nowadays I do not know.

I agree with you - and that should be the point, not the ethnicity of the attackers.

I have a lot of respect for the police, which is why I find it disappointing when they let themselves down. We all know that there have been a number of recent cases where the police have not acting professionally. I guess I expect the police (and politicians, teachers, etc) to be held to higher standards because without respect, they're on to a loser.

I think it is relevant to trace a "how it begun" using as reliable sources as possible, because the key videos show only what happened at the end, and judgments here and in the media and SM -

and the hatred in SM is absolutely appalling along the lines of "they (Asian British) are all the same and should be sent home" (and a great deal worse) are being made on the basis of those events only.

Hundred of people arrive in an airport every day and incidents like this are very rare. There had to be a trigger and we know there was a build up following that.

I think there is a difference between wild speculation and trying to understand.

The video doesn't lie and action has been taken already but as I said above is only part of an hour long series of incidents. Which started with a racist insult, which we seem to be forgetting here.

Fed up of Tice being trotted out just to stir up more trouble.

How do we know that this started with a racist insult?
Were any of us on the plane?
Or in the coffee shop? Or the baggage hall?
I’d guess we weren’t, so,we don’t know how or where it started or how or where it continued. The only thing we know is what happened on the two video clips released and what has been said by the police. That is all we know. The rest is hearsay and speculation.
